The shade.
Also nice gifs Tyaren. I don't even know anything about the order besides its graphics. Thank god my tablet can survive the gifs though.

There isn't much to know besides the graphics. The game was generally panned for it's short and forgettable campaign that consisted basically just of walking, looking at stuff and some quick time events. ;) It's just 24€ by now and it got a great photo mode, so it's totally worth it for me.

I actually until just last November didn't have a laptop, because my other had bricked and being unemployed I'm rather thin on money.

I mostly don't use my laptop I DO have now mostly because of habit you try kicking the habit of using a phone when it's all you had for nearly 2 years. I forget I even HAVE a laptop sometimes I'm so unused to it lol

Well I'll be prepared for you posting dozens of photos from it very soon then. Its a shame it doesn't have good gameplay to go along with its graphics. And only 2 bosses who are exactly the same!

Also with the PC thing. I have one its just more convenient to use a tablet.

@Tyaren "just 25 euros"? that's still a lot for a terrible game. I mean how much are retail games over there? lol I never pay more than £45 if I can help it for games I LIKE.

Is that including digital deluxe/Gold Editions? If so that's rediculously cheap.

Retail here is £49.99 - £54.99 with Digital Deluxe/Gold Editions being £69.99, maybe I'm just money conscious(or don't like being ripped off) but a game could have the best gameplay/graphics in the world I'd never pay £54.99/£69.99.

For a game haha for a game like The Order I just would never buy it or wait until it's in the £5-£10 bargain bin range.

Same with me and DOAX3. I highly doubt the graphics there are just rudimentarily as polished as the Order's...same with the "gameplay" really.

@Jadeinchains, this might interest you since you don't plan on buying the game anyway:

tbf I'm only paying £48+ on DOAX3 because it's the only way I can get it, it's pay £48+ on 500HK$(which means remaining funds can go on other stuff), Pay £49.99 on a UK based Japanese/Asia game distributor I've never ever used before or pay like £75+ on the game + P&P lol

as for Gameplay DOAX3 funny enough might have more than The Order tbf there's thing that you can actually play.

I also really like X3's art style even though it's pretty much just a softer DOA5 with bloom.

Alrighty, here are the first couple of photos that I managed to take in The Order 1886! :D

The beginning is really gritty (yeah, I shed all that blood! XD) but it looks amazing and is pretty close to photorealism. All these pictures are taken with the implemented photo mode during normal gameplay, not cutscenes.

The photomode wasn't in the game when it released but was added for free some time later. I'm glad I can experience the game from the beginning with it. :) There's a ton of things you can do. Freely move the camera, zoom in and out, do angled shots and there are lots of image post processing options and filters you can slap onto the photos, which I didn't though. I wanted the photos to be as close as possible to the actual experience during gameplay. I toned the film grain down a bit though. The cinematic black bars are unfortunately unchangeable. :/

Once you emerge for the first time from the catacombs you get an amazing view of a steam punk-ish London. It looks so much better in movement!

Then you walk and walk...and walk. XD The first half hour I played was me just walking and looking around and taking pictures. The game encourages...actually forces you to do so though.

The interiors really look the best in this game...

The NPCs in the houses and streets also look really good and very detailed. They also have great natural acting. It really felt as if the woman here was fearful and her husband tried to calm her down.

The lighting in this game is imho fantastic and very realistic looking. It's very soft, moody, actually subdued and not as stark as in other games. But exactly this makes it feel so natural.
This being just the first two locations has me excited what comes next. These look already really good, but I've heard the locations are supposed to get more and more epic during the course of the story. :)

The game looks beautiful! Nice to see NPCs with effort put into them. I love steam punk so I think I'd like the art direction of this game.

The whole KOF14 looks like PS2 graphics thing
It
It still does though lol.

It doesn't matter how many polies there are when they still look like featureless mannequins.

They seriously look way too similar to the plastic featureless models in PS2 games like Shadow of Destiny and the first Xenosaga

Here's something interesting (if you care about hair), found a way to get the wind glitch reliably and it gives a new perspective on Kasumi's hair which is extremely important

You can see 3 distinct layers here. Compare it to Leifang, who only has two right on top of each other

But take a look whose hair looks thicker

With more opacity they could have put less work into Kasumi's hair and the end result would have looked better.
