    Edit -Lmao, there are names for the stuns/staggers in the game. There is just no naming for the grouping/classifications for them. http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/doa4-critical-system.1/ This is for DOA4, however, the stun/stagger naming should be the same.

    I would like to add that when your character is grounded, you are considered in a stun/staggered state. So it is benificial to stagger escape to rise quickly. Holding the :h: will allow you to rise and block.
