Then you realize there was a huge shift in gameplay logic since DOA4? When people say they want DOA to be more competitive, it's mostly from adding in concepts from 1,2, and 3 and undoing the damage caused by 4. It's literally DOA being DOA.

Uh, yea? It was called everything that happened between MK4-8. THAT is a fact. It failed miserably because they didn't know what they were doing, but the sales drove on due to gimmick factor.
You have.... NO grasp of fighting game history. The combo system was not "randomly added" into anything. It was a glitch in street fighter that people discovered and abused. The combo counter itself was later added to represent this because people liked the combo and wanted to see it represented.
At the end of the day, you have absolutely no idea what the intentions of TN, NR, AM2, Capcom or their communities are. The only ones who do are the guys who have been around a while and actually been a part of that action and talked with those companies.
Please don't try and talk as if you have an understanding and we are all the ones in need of an education.

Not to everyone on here. Some keep trying to make DOA become VF. And thats something that isnt gonna happen. Not in this lifetime.

Most want their hits rewarded. Want their execution, skill, and ability to guess correctly rewarded with damage. Not with another guess.
Why do you play a fighter when YOU don't want to fight? There are plenty of card games suited to what you need.

DOA fun for most. VF too competitive. Honestly I didnt care about VF because its horrible. It doesnt have any "personality" or a niche.

It can both go hand in hand. Its just that when yall say "competitive"....at that point yall don't play for fun. Yall play to win by using exploits. (abusing glitches, frame data, etc.) Thats not fun, thats cheap.
Learning how to counter and overcome those exploits are the way competitive players have fun with the game. You see, they're having fun while evolving their game to such an extent, which in turn, leads to amazing spectacles in tournament play and this thing called "hype", as some would put it.
