Again. If you got nothing nice to suggest for them, best to leave them alone untouched. I like 5/5U's graphics better. Why do you insist to keep on suggesting the other games?

DoA is more known for female sex appeal than for anything else. If it wasn't sexy, I wouldn't play it, because you can get a run-of-the-mill fighting game anywhere. Did you know the people who made GOLDEN TEE tried to make a fighting game at one point in time? Yep, it was called "Time Killers".

I would just think as a gay guy, you'd be more drawn towards Tekken for the dudes with the bad case of no shirt or Street Fighter since all the women look like they're on steroids and might have a vestigial penis. (Also note with Poison being added that is more plausible than ever)

It's not like this game is banned for gaymers. I even played the watered-down PSP version of the volleyball spinoff for a solid 3 months and no, that didn't made me anywhere less gay.

I should really play that. I think I would get more out of it than you.

I would think you'd be more inclined to play games with more guys because that's your penchant. Jussayin'. BTW -- I'm proud not to have a y in me being a "gamer".

Well, I can probably already imagine that if ManekiNeko has the Core Fighters version of DOA5U, his roster would just be all of the female characters. He'll just have to ignore Ryu and Hayate.

Actually, I have the full game (because it was on sale for $30). I only play as the female characters unless it's needed for a special occasion (like Busa unlocking the swimsuits on Legend difficulty).

People are not only drawn to what they're sexually attracted to. There are many other attractions.

I play a fighting game, well, to fight. I like izuna dropping bitches into the ground. It's what I do.

Most here are drawn to gameplay. 'Cause y'know, it's a fucking game. You're supposed to like playing it, not playing with yourself while it plays in the background. So no, the sexualization is not the primary, secondary or even tertiary appeal of the game to me.

This is a really simple concept. It astounds me that people still can't understand it for whatever reason.

I know trolls don't give a shit and like seeing other explain their actions logically only to shit on them and go "hurr durr, I'm right for no discernible reason and I hardly even read what you said trololol" but I'm just gonna humor you anyway

I would concede that in part. But you can't deny the simple fact that practically all of the games are practically identical to other ones.

I mean think of the mind-numbing banality to be entertained by something like this by a game like Street Fighter... beat someone up, then go to the next round, and then... beat someone up again! I say consider yourself lucky you don't have criminal charges pressed against you, asshole.

Most here are drawn to gameplay. 'Cause y'know, it's a fucking game. You're supposed to like playing it, not playing with yourself while it plays in the background. So no, the sexualization is not the primary, secondary or even tertiary appeal of the game to me.

You're one sick mofo. Sex appeal can be about admiring the opposite sex without whipping it out while you're playing. I mean yeah, there's the joke about a guy's dick growing by beating someone else in a game, but let's be honest here.

However, that doesn't mean that taking away the sex appeal would make the game better. Because DoA has built a reputation, like it or not, for female sex appeal, if you took it away, the haters all would laugh at the new installment, saying that the game "sold out" or that it became a wannabe Street Fighter, etc.

I did get attracted for the sex appeal. It's a good game under it all, but if it wasn't sexy, I can guarantee you it wouldn't sell just because of the glut of very droll fighting games on the market.

I know trolls don't give a shit and like seeing other explain their actions logically only to shit on them and go "hurr durr, I'm right for no discernible reason and I hardly even read what you said trololol" but I'm just gonna humor you anyway

Wow, I use logic and you surmise that I'm shitting on you? You know, where I come from, there's a word for people like that. Asshole. Want the definition? "A person who goes out of their way to make someone else miserable". If you want a perfect example of that, look at the profile of Chapstick who proceeded to do this on three separate occasions without me once provoking him or even calling him any name in the book. Yes, that douche bag did all that without me replying to him one time.

I may not be able to "fit in" at most places but I'd appreciate it if you refrained from referring to me as a troll when I am very upfront and honest about what I like and do not like. If I was doing this for effect, yes, I could see the word "Troll" applying. However, stating that when a person is just upfront and honest and calls it like they see it is not trolling the last time I checked.

You don't get labelled as a troll because you hold differing opinions from others. You get labelled as a troll because you've repeatedly tried to force those opinions onto others, and told them to get out if they don't agree. There is a very clear distinction between that and simply being honest about your likes and dislikes.

Close. I force my opinions because I know what I want to see and don't want to see, and when someone disagrees with me, (like Mr. Tussin) I asked the inquiry about why he wouldn't be more attracted to a game that seems more shall I say fitting for him (like Tekken Revolution, which I'm convinced is made exclusively for gay men).

If I graded that post, I'd give it a B-. You're close, but the point between intentionally trying to upset someone and inadvertently coming off as brusque is one that you seem to have difficulty with. So yeah, although I'll give you partial credit for it, you'll have to come back and try later.

not sure specifically, because I don't use them, but I see like, Christie and the female ninjas doing low, downward jabs on falling opponents to make them pop straight up in the air. it just makes no sense at ALL.
If you hit them while in the air (in other words, with their feet off the ground) then they're in juggle state. This is usually how it works in fighting games in general.
Soul Calibur: Spawn
Wait, so you want a character that was simply a guest in another game, to be a guest representing the game he was a guest in? That's some meta shizz.

See, this is the problem.

As the old saying goes, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one (and they all stink).

I'm surprised that Matt or any of the mods hasn't come here yet to tell everyone to get back in line.

unfortunately, being a wet bag doesn't do anything but watch as you get rolled over by someone who has NFI how to make a decent fighting game and takes away all the good things about the game. Hell, I bet some of the people here would love the game to be nothing but Tengu vs. Eliot playing over and over again.

Sure, it's the first thing to come to mind whenever they heard the title but it's not the most relevant of all.

And I care because...?

DOA has their fair share of futanari artworks too. Care to choke on Kasumi's horsecock?

BTW -- I'm proud not to have a y in me being a "gamer".

So what? I'm proud of my y in between the "ga" and "mer".

Eye candy is eye candy regardless of the game or who tickles your fancy in it. It's not my fault I'm attracted to the other side of the roster. No one should dictate what fighting game an individual should and shouldn't play or what characters an individual should and shouldn't like. I like how all the characters look aesthetically but I'm attracted to the males in it, is that so hard to understand? Is it wrong to like them? I think not.

But like @Brute, I'm in it mostly for the gameplay. Being able to execute throws (like Busa's izuna drop or Lisa's deja vu) and interrupting strikes with holds and parries in general is just so satisfying to do.

I really am not about to get myself into ANOTHER argument on differentiation and how it stands out. It's in there. Look it up. I've explained it here.

And I care because...?

wow, and I thought you were really smart. Sorry. I'll learn not to overestimate your intelligence again. Sorry. Okay, here is the point. *grabs a crayon to explain in simple terms*

Fighting games are pretty much a dime a dozen. If you want a basic boring ass game, you can get that anywhere. It's only if a game STANDS OUT that it's worth anything at all. Look at the games with staying power. They all stand out, that's what keeps the very fickle fighting game community back to these games.

I could play Street Fighter if I wanted a boring ass fighting game for boring people with no reward system. I hate to pick on the proverbial "fat kid in the parking lot" but I think we can fairly objectively say that the game relies more on its name than anything else, which is probably the dumbest reason ever to play a game.

It's harder for DoA not just because of DOAX or DOAX2 but the fact there were nearly 7 years between installments. Let's be honest. If you go more than 2 years, the FGC pretty much considers you DOA (Dead on Arrival, not the series)

DOA has their fair share of futanari artworks too. Care to choke on Kasumi's horsecock?

5 trillion years after Hell has frozen over and only on the second Tuesday of any given week. Anyone who draws that is one sick puppy and not in a good way.

So what? I'm proud of my y in between the "ga" and "mer".

but I bet you'd be happier playing Tekken Revolution with all that disgusting man-flesh. That's my point. Seriously. It's gross. As a straight guy, I can't thoroughly enjoy that game even when I'm playing as the not disgusting Lili, Asuka or Kunimitsu. I mean I still have to go up against the roid patrol.

And I'm very attracted to the females. They actually look like WOMEN. That's a selling point for me. Admittedly, it's only a secondary reason, but it is enough to make me venture after a 17-year absence into the community.

But like @Brute, I'm in it mostly for the gameplay. Being able to execute throws (like Busa's izuna drop or Lisa's deja vu) and interrupting strikes with holds and parries in general is just so satisfying to do.

There's a reason I have a quote, "come for the boobs, stay for the game". I think you and I can agree to some extent that slogan works for this game.

Yes, I know. I'm talking about how I wish they would change that because it's really stupid that a down hit hits up instead of down.

As for spawn...only other character I can think translating well enough might be Talim or Maxi. but goddamn Spawn was stylish!

I wouldn't be surprised if what's underneath is what I expected it to be. Originally I was going to censor a Futasumi boner but I went with a more conservative choice.

Can you blame people for actually playing as a male character? It's not like their gut told them to. You can like a character but find it hard to appreciate them due to their play-style not giving you justice unless you have time and dedication.

I respect your preferences however that's not really a legit reason to remove all the guys. You're not the only people this game is catering to and I'm quite positive there are straight men who prefers to main and play a handful of male characters. Can we just all get along?

So stop with the overplayed "Go play Street Fighter, Tekken Revolution, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, etc. since that game is literally a boring sausage fest" because DOA itself started off like they do by having 3-4 females. You don't see me shunning and telling you to go play Rumble Roses XX.

My preferred slogan: "come for the nostalgia, stay for the game"

Since I myself was in a long hiatus due to Itagaki monopolizing the succeeding games exclusively for the Xbox/360. The last time I played a DOA game was DOA2 for the Dreamcast.

In order!

1) Thank you!

2) If it weren't for the guys, I woulda never played DOA. The girls (Save Mila) hold absolutely no appeal for me. Don't like their playstyles, and none of em are my type, aesthetically.

3) Rumble Roses XX is awesome. Don't knock it. Its like Onechanbara Bikini Samurai Squad. I went in for a laugh at the novelty, found a game that's surprisingly fun.

4) I got into the series in DOA3 on the Xbox. Been playing 3, 1u, 2u, and 4 an 5 on xbox. Only reason I'm playing 5u on ps3 right now is cause its free, and I was gonna buy the full game on 360, which I prefer, but remembered I only play 2 characters so I'm better off just buying those 2 on core fighters than buying a full game lol.

Rumble Roses XX and Onechanbara Bikini Samurai Squad. Well, hell, if they're as good as Lollipop Chainsaw, I'll give 'em a try.

Oh and by the way, @Rawbietussin , I would never tell you to play Mortal Kombat or Soul Calibur, because I marginally like those games. Now admittedly, DoA is kinda the one I am drawn to but I will play those because again the reward system is something I would try. Plus I mean C'mon -- Taki? Ivy? Cassandra? Sophitia?

The others? Yeah, they blow male donkey appendages. If you played them, I wouldn't shed a tear. You can have them.

oh and... by the way... you know I was going to say it to you for butchering one of my favorite characters... brace yourself in 3... 2... 1...

I swear you are going to make this TOO easy for me to respond. I mean really. *insert comment about guys showering with their backs to the wall now*. XD!

....you lost me. That makes no sense.

Anyways, on Rumble Roses XX and Onechanbara, they are FAR from "refined" or "polished" like lollipop chainsaw, but I still had an absolute blast with them.

On the other games...you can't seriously diss Street Fighter, but praise Mortal Kombat....I'm not a fan of either, but MK is a clunky clusterfuck of a game lol.

Don't blame me. I'm not even the artist but I dedicate that just for you. (Hey, at least it's different from Chapstick's dedication). Care for another helping? Don't hesitate to ask.

You're discouraging people like me from playing "your" games thinking that I would "defile" them? Too bad because I play those games as well and how can it be my fault? I'm not the game developer. I don't work for TN, Bamco or even NetherRealm Studios. Blame them for making the characters attractive to me.

Of course I can. I started with MK3 which actually was a good solid graphic game. Street Fighter on the other hand is a boring game for boring people. think of the mind-numbed banality it must take to derive pleasure from this activity. Beat someone up by mashing a bunch of buttons, and then... go to the next stage!! and then... beat someone up again! I say be lucky you didn't have the police called on you, asshole. You're a winner!!

Some time I should really tell you about my hiatus from fighting games in general. You'd probably relate to the person who burned me out on them.

*smh* Really? and you claim I don't get humor. If no sexy women are your type...

Christie: lol i shot your mom
Helena: *breaks down in front of her*
Christie: lmao

Hahahaha, she is scarily fascinated with Helena. But her reactions towards most of the others don't really lean towards crazy. I'd like to see someone who is like Christie is with Helena.... now imagine that with every cast member. But more sadistic. That's what I'd like to see... it'd be a nice change, and she could have a creepy ish fighting style like... Zafina from tekken. ( or something similar )
