So in March of last year I bought myself a Chun Li TE S as a birthday present, right? I figured "I'm finally going to learn to play some other fighting games and I'm going to learn stick at the same time." It didn't work out, something felt off about the stick and I didn't like it. I thought maybe it was the square gate but that didn't change my feelings and the stick just sat around.
A few months later I ended up buying the limited SFxT Pro Stick and I noticed myself liking that more, maybe it was because I was using it for playing DOA++ but something felt "right." Since then, the few times I have played something, I've been using the SFxT stick, the one that felt right. Just recently I've really gotten into VF5FS and I've been using the SFxT stick. I've managed to more or less get some difficult stuff down like Akira's knee and Jean's guard break follow-up but I've still been struggling with diagonals. Hell, I have an easier time pulling off Akira's 1 frame knee launcher than his
launcher.
The Chun stick still has the octo-gate in it so I wanted to try that out just this very moment and I noticed that the entirety of the stick is loose as hell,
all of the buttons and the actual stick itself. It feels mushy and off. I can't even get the knee to register on this thing without slamming on the guard button and then it'll register more than a frame. No wonder I couldn't play on this thing.
How the hell did my brand new, stock TE S get so loose out of the box? This put back my learning fighting games for almost a year and I'm kind of disappointed to learn that now. Maybe I could've been at Evo competing for something this year! Not likely, but still, haha. Short of replacing
everything in the stick, what can I do to fix this thing?
The Chun Li TE S is sexy though. While I'm not a big fan of Kasumi, she'd make a perfect replacement piece of artwork on the stick and I put something together really quick. Does anyone want the actual PSD? It actually has Kasumi, the various cherry blossoms and background all separate so you can still arrange them as you please.
