So the leaks were wrong! Heihachi moves into the season 1 spot instead of the the last dlc character until tekken 9 is announced. I m not convinced Heihachi is alive until Raven says his line.

They are really f***ing up. After the BS story from 7, declaring he's officially dead but then brought him back to life? For what?! For his fans that didn't like Reina? And then why updating Kuma then? Seriously, Harada and the current Tekken writers are a bunch of wishy-washy people.

I think mainly since Heihachi is still insanely popular, it's weird but Tekken has always done this since Tekken 1 where the Mishima don't truly die. I think Harada is kinda strange for acting like Hei was dead but maybe it was to keep leaks to a minimum since none really are correct anymore

I just hope this means we get Anna, Katarina, Chloe, Fahk, Julia or Kunimitsu II as the final release since the fake leak rosters were lame imo. I think them adding Heihachi is more just a effort to keep interest in the game alive, and I mean SF did that with Bison and DOA did it with Raidou with the whole memory loss thing, and that already is like spitting on the story, especially since Kasumi was exiled and outcasted just for wanting to exact revenge on Raidou but now that's basically like a trashed effort since he was present in DOA5 and 6

At this point can you even call this a story more than an overused (and quite frankly, stupid) gimmick. DOAs writing trashes this bull shit.

I’m sorry but I can look at this as a step back for me personally. Why the fuck… Harada is a genius but he’s also an asshole. That’s my compromise on the whole TEKKEN thing. It’s better than it was but that’s all I’m giving it.

EVO was a laugh fest. I mean seriously. All I see is Drag. DOA for life.

I was very surprise that Heihachi was brought back, despite being thrown in LAVA. That makes Me think of Spyro when characters like Hunter (PS1), Ripto, & The Sorceress when they fell in Lava and manage to get out of Lava & Survived. Raven be like "Are you fucking kidding Me right?" But anyway this is one character I look forward into customizing his classic outfits.

Tbh I watched the reveal and I think maybe in tekken 8 he didn't actually burn in lava since when you see the area of the trailer he was thrown in, there's no lava bed around. I'm assuming they retconned it by making it seem like Heihachi was tossed into the lava but it doesn't seem like that's the case since it looks like it was just a ravine toss and his body wasn't burnt up

Tbh tho, Heihachi returning takes away the emotional aspect of Tekken 7's story since I remember crying when I thought Hei was dead and their fight was over. Now it seems almost brummagem

The thing about Bison was that, yeah, he returned with a new body, but he has the amnesia-route and destroyed his "main personality" that was store in the Shadaloo's database. World Tour did bring back some memories but gave him a bit of an interesting turn on reviving Shadaloo, even though the writers of SF were f***ing up the story with the retcons, especially during 4 and 5. Raidou was similar, but the DOA writers didn't know what to do with him during his revival because they were all focusing on Marie Rose and Honoka.

This is like the 3rd time Heihachi survived. During 1st and 2nd games were fine because Kazuya was heading to be an antagonist. It was hyped up in 5's premise. But then 7's writing trying to make him "sympathetic" and because of his return, that make his fight with Kazuya pointless and without meaning.

Well tbf he was only sympathetic about him killing his wife Kazumi. I don't think Tekken 7 iirc tried to make him sympathetic towards Kazuya at all

Raidou I think was more just a western aimed DLC in LR but I think they meant to bring him back for DOA6 so he could be killed off again

Tried out the photo mode, it's what I expected. It's decent since like DOA and DOA6, you can take pics of action shots and such, and the filters and water effects are pretty cool. I think the best thing about the mode is that you can hide P1 or P2, enable effects, enable the HUD, and you can choose the camera lens type which is interesting.

Also something cool I noticed is that if you hide and then enable a character from view again, it'll somewhat fix their hair so that way if it looked messy or all over the place(Lili has this happen alot since her hair in game can go over her shoulders alot and the wind can also make it free flow) it'll revert it to a better placement.

Only thing the mode isn't good with is that the visuals aren't as polished during a match as they are during intros/outros and rage arts, I'm guessing since they use a pre canned lighting and higher visuals during those only so the game runs smooth. Only thing is... unless you're on PC and have the unreal engine unlocker thing, you can't take pics during intros or outros, and the game won't even let you move the camera during heat engage run ins, heat bursts, heat smash angles, and during rage arts which suck since those have alot of visual potential like being able to see Bryan tpose, Lili dancing during her rage art, etc.

Overall I rate it 7/10, good effort since it'll definitely add some photography potential for thumbnails and for more casual shots, but it missed even more meme opportunity by gating it, and the controls are somewhat clunky

Will definitely continue using unreal engine unlocker more but it'll be a useful feature for more match based shots

New DLC for tekken 8:

20240903_004514.jpg

This reminds me of Kasumi's DOA5LR Aloha DLC tbh mixed with Hitomi's variant with the leaf skirt and then the added coconuts. I think the male version imo is better

20240903_004516.jpg

I'm guessing this is like their rock pack or punk I love the femalr pack since the makeup and top and ponytail are good the male one not so much imo. And I don't like how the female pack lacks heels, that's been a major turn off the last few packs since I hate the flat footed shoes

Idk which one they'll drop first but I'll only buy the male Hawaiian one and the female rock one

I know a lot of people had some stuff to say about DOA's DLC outfits, but I've always kind of seen Bandai Namco's DLC as some of the most JANK DLC I've ever seen from SC to TEKKEN. They look like very generic pieces that could've been available at launch. I don't really expect them to do DOA characters as DLC since their DLC hasn't really come off as player picks and more like what they want. Might be out of the whole Tekken thing.
