Ayane wouldn't be suited for intel because she's a field operative. She's directly monitoring Hayabusa and throwing kunai in his path. Like a ninja.
I watched Hayate use stealth at the beginning of his DOA4 ending. He at least gets it a little.
Once again. I like Ryu, Kasumi and Momiji, but they are hardly ninjas. After much debate over it, Team Ninja even dropped the ninja claim and called him a super ninja. I would just call him a super hero though. I'm actually even excited to play as Kasumi, but I don't appreciate you calling out my character and not even putting any thought to why you don't like her. It's like I have to continuously milk you to get anything of importance.
And at CyberEvil. Ryu Hayabusa can use the warhammer, but who cares when he has a Scythe that lops fiends heads off from behind, the left, the right and in front of him. And the Type 666 machine gun did make it feel a little third person, but it was still fun and challenging. It was really the only co-op related mechanic in the game next to those double-ninpo and reviving.
I know she isn't really relevant to the story anymore, but when she has a big fanbase, and there is a mission mode where story doesn't matter, why can't she be selectable? Kinda like Leon's story. And as you said earlier who plays NG for story really? It's all about the gameplay in the end, and I enjoyed playing as Rachel.

But she didn't use it to assassinate an enemy. All that really was was TN teasing Kasumi on a PS exclusive to be a WiiU exclusive years later which didn't sell so good. So now TN is finally bringing her where she was originally hinted at joining the series in the first place.
Oh, and stealth is only one, and I wouldn't use any one term to define a ninja.

I told you my thoughts, you just ignored them ("The rest of your stuff isn't worth responding to. xD"). Her personality is comparable to a wooden board who needs constant rescue, I despise her "dominatrix battle bimbo" visual design, and her gameplay feels clunky and OP in some areas (ranged and UT chains) and totally useless everywhere else. I put a lot of thought into why I hate her, and I figured out that the reason I hate her is that I hate literally every aspect of her.

You're in a minority. Most people I know hate Rachel and despise all the atrocious segments in Sigma 1 & 2 where we are burdened with playing her to get back to Ryu.
I would disagree with you when you dump on her personality. I find her a lot more emotional than a plank and I think that's what Ryu's personality is best compared to, not to say that's bad all the time. He's a pretty awesome plank.
After the costumes were released for NGS3, you'd be surprised how many people tweeted for her return.
Who cares what you wear when you are slaying fiends, as long as my private areas are covered and I have a giant warhammer, I wouldn't give two fifths of a fuck what I was wearing because I wouldn't have time to care, but she's a bimbo I guess. Not a fiend hunter.
(oh and PS, the warhammer got updated to the inferno hammer)

EDIT: Alright, heading to sleep myself. Everyone has had their say at this point and we all have opinions. We're also all very passionate about the franchise(s), so let's roll with that. No saltiness from here on out. Hopefully everyone gets the new releases for Vita and consoles and we can all get some games in.

Agreed... the last thing I want is to make enemies defending characters for the thousandth time. It never goes anywhere anyway.
I'm not sure if this has have ever been asked, but has a Ninja Gaiden sub-forum ever been contemplated? I know that this is FSD, and not DOAW (thank GOD), but I think a sub-forum for the Ninja Gaiden series would be beneficial here as it is a product of Team Ninja that requires sincere strategy and has a big following with the DOA crowd.
I would have no problem discussing all Ninja Gaiden here in this single topic, but it would be convenient to have more options (less constant topic switching) and there is a lot of Ninja Gaiden going around this quarter with Sigma 2 +, and Razor's Edge for PS3 and 360.

Like I said she isn't perfect if she makes a return I think 3 things should happen 1)take away her type 666 and replace it with twin sub machine guns she can dual wield,her LMG is to clunky too really fight with and as cool as it is gameplay is key.2)have her use the Dabilhro better yet dual wield that with the hammer,3)give her Petula Tail some use.

Thank goodness I don't have to shell out another 60 bones. Would have been infuriating to by the game all over again after getting ripped off of a quality product. Didn't expect a patch for something this massive in this day and age, so I'm cool with it.
Aaaaaaand for the record. I love playing as Rachel in NGS2 D:

Damn... I just realized I have 3 TN games pre-ordered (NGS2+, DOA5+, and NG:RE once it's available) plus MGR, which makes 4 ninja games. I've never had so many games pre-ordered at once in my life. I am gonna be so broke..

My dream as a kid was to have a co-op Ninja Gaiden game with Ryu and Hayate. Seeing the Doa 4 demo on Ninja Gaiden Black made me think of how badass that would be. Getting a Hayate model swap would make it one step closer. Muhaha. Ok not really all that much closer but still.
When Razors Edge comes to the 360 if it is any good I think I will try and pick up that and the second one since I sadly missed it. I kinda feel incomplete since I know 2 is out there and I have yet to play it.
