Could you people stop wanking at this Irene gyal, please? You're wasting online kilebytes and you'll end up looking dumb when the actual character is revealed.

I believe that everyone agree that the new female character is almost certainly NOT Irene, we were only discussing about an eventual addition of her. For example I don't think that Bankotsubo will be the new male character, but this doesn't prevent me to discuss about him, indeed...

Back on subject: I'm still hoping that the returning male is Bankotsubo.

I would like to see him back in the game, but how at this point? Nyotengu inherited the moveset of Tengu with additions and improvements that anyway make of her moveset a natural evolution of the previous character. If now Bankotsubo was to return in the game, he should necessarily to be heavily alterated for playing differently so to not appear a clone, and in a similar circumstance wouldn't make sense to give a new playstyle to him and to leave its old one to Nyotengu...

In any case, I really hope this male character that "everyone will like" is more interesting than Rig. Since Rig was really the only sole new male character in DOA5, this male character has a lot to prove, imo. Rig is so bland, even the big twist at the end of the story didn't make him any more interesting. Cool fighting style, yes, but on him, no.

I have no realistic - much less high - expectations for either the female or male character. Nevertheless, I have a preference that I wouldn't call my own. I would prefer if the new female character was a token MILF to complement the token loli look given by Marie, even if the character is not Miyako.

If the male character is not a returning or guest character, well... that's none of my business. I just hope he's more interesting than Hwoarang with a man card.

You already know that's a stupid thing to do.
Stop trying to hype up a male character to begin with when you already know TN's track record for any male not Ryu Hayabusa, just stay disappointed and hope for nothing unless it's Genra or Raidou.

It's not hard to be hyped for a new character, seeing as how the new blood for Ultimate were all females, and only one of them were completely unique.

To be honest, I think that is the best attitude you can have against TN these days.

True, but it's quite obvious (and sad), that we are expecting too much - not that we are totally at fault. We're just getting the usual stuff - even in next-gen! I'll say it again: to me, the real update was/is Ultimate. If it weren't for the obvious changes porting to console from 5+ (Vita) ... here the updates were substantial. Now, they seem superficial! I have a feeling the same may happen with DOA6, which is odd since almost nothing came with DOA4. And one would think since 4 introduced online play ... I believe we are just going through the motions - TN may be as well jmo

Actually DoA1U & 2U introduced the online play in the series, by the way I believe that it's still too much soon for saying that we will not get substantial updated when the same Hayashi stated that the game that could appear almost complete in the demo is actually realized for the 65%

I started with 4, but my apologies for mis-wording it! As I said, we are all going through the motions, waiting! But you brought up a sore subject for alot of people! "Complete Game!" (That says it all, right there) Think about it! All the DLC (which is what Ultimate/LR are really), and what if this game is - NOT complete!!

This isn't another medium where you can get away with giving us half the product, then tell us to get the other half - which is what DLC does/is for a shitload of games! You get individual games, then they come out with an "All-In-One" version. This is essentially what LR is: Vanilla + Ultimate = Last Round. Three editions of ONE game? (Lookin' at you MK3/UMK3/MKT) What are they gonna do for 6? To me, there's nothing left but story. Luckily, they didn't touch that at all.

I hope LR is great, but I hope it proves everyone wrong who says TN's just cashing in! The Ultimate Editions for 1 & 2 were okay. Three editions for 5? If they "got away" with this, I hope I am wrong. However, burnouts do occur.

Not sure if I understood you, but for completion I meant DoA5 Last Round fully realized how planned from Team NINJA (so with all the new characters, modes, stages, features, ecc... planned to be included in the disc).

I never meant for complete a game with all the DLC released so far, even because that would be perfect for who started to play DoA5 with LR, but wouldn't be the right solution for all the people that bought the DLC for Vanilla or Ultimate (that at least in the first times will be the majority of the customers of LR)

Actually what is happening now is not very different from what happened in the past with the various remakes of DoA1 and DoA2. This is a quote of an old post of mine:

Even if I wasn't expecting something similar (at least not now) I want just say that all this is not something never happened in the past with the series:

So honestly I think that this news shouldn't give so much disbelief or complaints among the fans: I believe that the only reason because DoA ended to get a "calm life" in the recent past, it was only for the exclusvity for Microsoft and its absence from the Arcade (things that didn't help its fame).

If the game is able to bring actual news and features to justify a new game (as for example DoA5U did compared to 5 Vanilla in my opinion), I have nothing against a third remake. Anyway just if this hasn't to become the usual standard without fully improving the series to the next step toward a real sequel (as for example is sadly happening to the SF series since 2008...). However TN already stated that Last Round will be the last version of DoA5.
