so does anyone know why its only the japanese getting that demo? i saw that and i was honestly baffled and more than a little annoyed. after the poor showing of that tech demo i was expecting something more.

I've been checking a lot of Pro analysis vids out (DigitalFoundry in particular) and they've mostly been reporting that despite the upscale, the checkerboard rendering technique causes some odd artifacting, especially around characters. I'm super sensitive to that and it happens in a lot of games that rely on heavy post-processing. Uncharted is a prime example. Some games are also suffering from heavier framerate drops than on the normal PS4 versions (Uncharted again and Skyrim being most noticeable).
I'm very low-key interested in the Pro but currently I'm more interested in re-done 1080p presentations that allow higher framerates or some super-sampling like in Rise of the Tomb Raider. I'll re-evaluate when we see how the 1080p unlocked framerate patch hits for FFXV but I think I'm going Xbox One and not worrying about it. Little reason for a Pro so far.

Alright, made the Japanese account and I am downloading the demo. A couple of questions though. Can I now sign out of the Japanese account and download it on my real account? Can I even use the demo on my real account? I'm a little scared to do something wrong, lol. XD
The demo apparently even has a 4K pro mode, so that's cool. The image quality seems to be pretty different people say on Neogaf.

Played about an hour of the demo. It's awesome! Really wish I could understand the dialogue and there's multiple aspects I'm just not getting because I can't understand the text but I was able to progress pretty far. Arrows help guide you along the way so you never feel lost.

All I know is I hate that one with the darker concrete. it looks fucking awful. The version where the button prompts are on the right. That floor looks like someone just cranked up the normal/bumpmaps/whatever the term is nowadays up to maximum without any other adjustments. It's just waaayyy too noisy, it's looks like TV static instead of asphalt.

Did you make the account on the PS4 or on the computer?
I made it on the PS4. In Neogaf they told me I have to activate my Japanese account as my primary account and I should be good to go on both accounts.
By the way...how do you like the demo?

I'm still downloading. 3 more hours to go. x__X This "speed" is killing me and I don't know where the problem is. My internet is usually very fast. I can crash all your PCs with dozens of gifs...but the download speed on my PS4 is abysmal, using Ethernet or Wifi.

I played 2 hours and a half and still didn't finish it.
What to say.... AWESOME!
It looks better than I expected, and I didn't see any noticable FPS drops. The language barrier isn't really big for me (since I study japanese). I can understand everything in the main menu, names of weapons/monsters, most of the tutorial stuff, some of the stuff the characters say.... etc, so I could still enjoy it, more or less.
I'm only doing hunts and finding treasures, and I like it, who cares to progress xD
Also, for the Regalia there's only FFXV, I and XIII music [?], but you can buy the FFII, IV, VII, VIII ones (so far).

Hmm. That's why I asked, the hong kong account I made on my ps4 automatically activated itself without me having to go into the settings. Though maybe that was an option as you make the account you missed because it was in japanese. Idk my Japanese account is activated too. :/
Haven't played it yet, I hit download, put my PS4 in rest mode then put myself in rest mode. Just woke up.
idk but I do know putting it in rest mode as it downloads makes things go faster

I haven't had much problems with that either, menus are 90% trial and error but, tutorials and stuff I mostly recall from videos of the english version.
Btw dod anyone else get a glitch when prompto is supposed to heal you in the tutorial? instead of reviving me he just ran around me in circles...
