Who said anything about censorship? Anita Sarkeesian (if this is who you all are constantly referring to when you say SJW) wanted the game industry to be more inclusive, not censored, if anyone on this forum have watched her videos? I mean like watched objectively, to her and Martha Nussbaum's perspective.

Ah… FFS I'll bite.
Regarding Sarkeesian:
Yes I did and even read her master thesis. What she primarily does, is look for evidence of a "white privileged, male chauvinist, patriarchic society" oppressing women in 1st world countries. She does so by identifying specific tropes and patterns in mass media products primarily catering to a male audience (shows like Star Trek and Games like GTA) and simply claims these things cause domestic violence and rape amongst other terrible things in real life... only against women of course.

I'd argue that especially her series about video games is hardly about more inclusion, since that would require a completely different approach. If that was her goal, imho she should start off with a thorough analysis of the status quo of "female gaming", how many females do play, how much, which games, which features do they want in games, which games would women play, but which features keep them away… stuff like that, however it seems she only asked a single person about her opinion… herself.
Since the answer for a more inclusive gaming culture is rather trivial… make more games catering to a female audience... she should provide some incentives to do just that in her videos. Like deliver proof that such products are viable and ultimately encourage more women to make games (after all who could know better what they want?), she could have done so by examining some existing role models, give advice how to approach the process... hell even make a fund with her 160k from Kickstarter.

Finally scratching out how such a game could look, but apparently she has no clue herself. Her hypothetical game unfortunately fails a bunch of her own tests.
The overall story is a violent, revenge story. The character carries many masculine traits she identified herself (e.g. violent conflict solving, daring, self confident, independent), yet has none of the positive female traits she wants (cooperative, nurturing, emotionally expressive)
With the comic-retro style it's not 100% clear, but the character seems to obey a wide array of those "patriarchy indoctrinated" standards of beauty and is thus subject to the "evil" male gaze. In short, if she ever manages to make those videos, this character is most probably a perfect fit for the "Fighting Fuck Toy" and "Man with Boobs" tropes.
The only thing she accomplishes, is to start off with a joke on the "Damsel in Distress" trope and a modest outfit for the protagonist. Fairly weak imho.
Of course pointing out issues with current games is a valid part… but not with those absurd, cherry picked examples and those baseless claims of mysogyny behind every corner.

Furthermore I doubt that Sarkeesian and Nussbaum have much of a common perspective, yes she uses Nussbaum's 7 indicators of objectification, however the observation strikes me as pretty obvious: NPCs are objects… no surprise since all a game world is, is a realm filled with objects for the player to interact with, it's pretty much impossible that they do not meet at least one of the requirements. One could argue that even applying this method is faulty anyway, since NPCs are not real humans to begin with. Figuring out that NPCs that depict sex workers, or racing girls are most likely sexualized is a no-brainer as well.

OMG… so offtopic…I'm kinda sorry, but ... it's about Anita Sarkeesian. Any post made about Anita in a gaming forum should obviously come with "Trigger warning" :p

Let's not start this again. I have a response to this, as well. PM if you want to continue this discussion, but this is not the appropriate place, as I said in the last paragraph of my post.

The main point of my penultimate post: No one has said anything about Xtreme 3. The vibes on this forum are starting to feel "gamergate," which, if Margaret Cho is far left, Gamergate is far right. In deference to all perspectives, I will never give a "Trigger Warning," for anything. Read at your own risk. This next comment is not directed at you @just_me, but I am always surprised at some of the immature responses I sometimes get. If you or anyone else find anything I say upsetting, again, I encourage them to use the magical "ignore" function. I use it all the time lol

i want to see if TN can put the reflection of the fireworks to the characters and on the sea water, it would be challenging to do it

I wouldn't get my expectations too high about that.
Unfortunately, I think that we won't see any reflection on water - for fighters that's for sure... maybe the fireworks - (or on the floor, or any kind of fine textures for the stages) in DOA5-5U-5LR.
I suppose that TN has created that game focusing on their characters, and real time shadows (something new in DOA5). They wanted to make a fast game. So, they had to make choices... and stages graphics has never been that messy since DOA...1? The graphics engine for this game can't probably make more than what he does.
I don't expect any graphics improvements for DOA5LR, even on next gen, as long as they keep the same graphics engine. (So, big mystery for DOAX3...)

By the time of DOAX3 I'd be surprised if they hadn't moved on to a better engine. I can understand LR on next gen not being much of a step up because it still has to work with DOA5. But I am hoping for a large step up for DOAX3.

I wonder if tn would listen if I asked for Mila to get a real swimsuit on their facebook page....I'll draw one later tonight and try

Call me ungrateful but... that stage honestly looks like a missed opportunity and chance to get DOA3 Sunset Beach back.

Screw Zack Island. It has no atmosphere. Sunset beach is one of the most immersive stages in DOA's catalog along with Aerial Gardens.

Or we can just have both. The more the merrier.

I hope Mila gets her own Swimsuit, but we all know there's bound to be copy and paste. With that said I would like Mila to get a recolouring of kasumis bikini with oversized see through top, I'd be happy with that. On a side note I had a weird dream yesterday I was Nyotengu in her black catsuit fighting people in a mall xD

In next week's pack? I can't see that making a difference. These costumes were probably finished weeks/months ago. They said at the Festival that they were already done with the Halloween costumes and those won't drop for at least another two and a half months.

I wonder when they will start teasing the swimsuits? That's if they tease them at all and don't just release all of them out of the blue.

I doubt they'll tease the swimsuits. I believe they've only ever done that with Halloween and crossover costumes.

Jepp. I'm pretty sure this will pop up in the PSN/Xbox market place and after that, TN releases a little trailer. By the way - every time I read "Halloween costumes", I'm getting hyped a bit. I'm so dawn excited for this.

Do you guys think, we will see a trailer of the stage and swimsuits before next week? Didn't we normally see a teaser or trailer with a bigger game update like this?
