That wasn't her. xD If that was her she'd be dead and not in DOA6. Some people have said that was Alpha getting changed by Donovan yet again but I don't think the time frame allowed it between the identical Kasumi clone killing Alpha (we never saw her escape after that) and the final fight. I believe it was yet another clone they had been working on using DNA from all the ninja.Then who was the final boss shape shifter? =p

Itagaki knew how to make a game look GOOD! I still say he should come back as like, Art Director for doa6 or something.
my point was more that the man was an amazing showman, and he really delivered on DOA being "fighting entertainment".
Also, we both know that the new team wouldn't be able to make an attract mode or good cinematic opening lol. There's nothing to show off, in game, (gameplay alone is boring to watch, and all the stages and visuals are meh), and i'm not sure they have enough stylistic talent to really make a good cg opening vid.
actually, thats not true. the gameplay in the attract vids i linked looked awesome. Its just that DOA5s vids just show titties and juggles, very little gameplay or anything else. Plus they'd probably pull a MKX and put the vid to hilariously inappropriate hiphop lol. (Actually, I suppose DOA5 is already guilty of that...)

I'm not a fan of putting the blame on new Team NINJA for not putting an attract mode into the game. You know why attract modes were done? Because it was required for certification of the game by the game system companies (Microsoft / PlayStation). However, with the PlayStation 3, Sony decided to no longer require the attract mode since frankly it fails to deserve a purpose in the current generation of games. Microsoft followed suit shortly after the release of the PlayStation 3. The ROI for creating one and running it is extremely low, this is especially true since most attract modes have been replaced by a launch trailer or a demo in a demo kiosk. You'd find it very difficult I imagine to look at any modern new release and see an attract mode that wasn't Legal Text/Logos into Press Start menu looping when idle.
So why the above video? It's the attract mode for the Arcade Version. Arcades still need an attract mode to attract someone to the cabinet and put money into it. In console versions, they already have your money by the time you booted up the game so there isn't a need for it to take up the space on the disc.
Why does Guilty Gear Xrd - and pretty much every Arcsys and Capcom fighting game title around that time - still have them on the console versions in this day and age?Here's DOA5's attract mode:

Fair enough. I don't agree. I think DOA5 is far more beautiful than any version of DOA that Itagaki made, and the gameplay is stellar too. You've also overlooked local gaming scenes that don't have a dedicated/ established community for DOA players and the people who can't afford to play said fighting game at their own home and/or can't access the game as often. Imagine if some new guy shows up unaware of what fighting games look awesome to play among a selection of fighting games at that local... what're the chances they'll take the time to pick up one with an attract mode vs. one where you're pretty much staring at a logo?
And Itagaki would a still had one for 5 and made it look awesome, is all I'm saying.Because they too started in arcades.
In those situations with established communities, in my experience players interested in a game watch other players actively playing the game, and games aren't just left on idle.
I wasn't commenting about not having an attract mode being better for the end user than having one. I was saying why an attract mode is not created with every game anymore (Console manufacturers no longer require it, since it's not required companies don't invest money in making them). Arcades require them because they still serve a purpose.

9 times out of 10 they're gonna pick up Ultra SF4, GGXrd, or even Smash 4 first.

Literally my only point was giving credit where its due, and showing that Itagaki knew how to make DOA look really awesome.
All in all, people are torn between Itagaki's TN and Hayashi's TN. There are people who enjoyed how Itagaki handled DOA and there are others who enjoyed how Hayashi handled DOA. The only DOA game I did not enjoy is DOA4, and that's because I didn't like how almost every move was negative on hit. But I will give credit for the ground game.
which is good and bad.It's funny @VirtuaKazama says that, because DOA2 Hardcore is my favorite DOA in the series. However, I really do enjoy DOA5 in terms of gameplay. Sure, it might not have the same flair as previous DOA titles, but it really has improved on previous titles in many other ways.

For comparisons sake, even though, say, ninja Gaiden and devil may cry had better gameplay and design, I just had a lot more fun (and therefore, mileage) out of Lollipop Chainsaw, Ninja Blade, and Onechanbara, which were relatively primitive and clunky. Just because those games were awesome to behold lol.
As Virtua Fighter shows, the tightest gameplay doesn't mean shit if you can't present yourself. And THAT'S where Itagaki comes in.
DOA Vanilla was a bland, hideous game that I had muted most of the time, but with more refined gameplay. Bringing back Itagaki era music and stages helped, a LOT, but it needs more. DOA6 needs to drop the "Grim and gritty, competitive box arenas" approach and go back to being Fighting Entertainment with gorgeous aesthetics, kickass music, and an actual goddamn arcade mode.
This feels appropriate lol. Just replace Megamind with Itagaki,and titan with the new guy lol.
