just dawned on me that if I do this DOA webcomic, I could also incorporate the characters I designed (club, military, masculine) girls as extras to round off the cast. Sweet.

so question, if there was a VFxDOA fighter announced which fighters from each game do you think would be included? Cause usually, I think, when it's two fighters in one game not all characters from each game are included... let's assume I'm correct. Which fighters would you guys think would be included from each game to form the overall cast?

This is pretty hard to say, I can only think that the priority would be given to the veteran and most popular characters (of course).

If I had to consider only the DoA roster (so without thinking to the repetition of styles from the VF series), I would say that the characters more likely for the two factors over mentioned could be (of course these are just my 2 cents):

  • Kasumi
  • Ayane
  • Hayabusa
  • Hitomi
  • Kokoro
  • Marie Rose
  • Bayman
  • Gen Fu
  • Tina
  • Jann Lee
  • Leifang

By the way Brad Wong, even if not the most popular one, it's always seemed to me a character that for quantity of moves and depth could be very likely part of the VF roster. At the same time we can be sure that Akira would be included in the game, so this could be an obstacle for the presence of Kokoro (that use the same style even if very differently).

The only ones that I feel to exclude definitely are Hayate and Ein: about the first one, the sisters kunoichi, Ryu and Kage are too much popular characters that maybe could be also fated to not be all included in a such crossover. With their existence I don't think that Hayate (or Momiji) could have some chances to be part of the roster. The same situation for Ein, having as competitor the more popular Hitomi and the karateka Jean in VF (even if he is one of the last characters added to the series, thing that definitely play more in favor of Ein). Of course I don't consider completely the presence of Tengu XD

EDIT: But of course there are also other factors that could be considered, like the vastity of the roster in the minds of the developers or the priority to the variety of the fighting styles rather than on the popularity of the characters.

In other news TN just officially re-confirmed that there are "more fighters" and not only one that will be added to the game after Phase-4

We told more fighters. Thanks. RT @RAS0310: @TeamNINJAStudio I'm confused, you said there were going to be more fighters after MR and P4 are released or did you said a fighter?

His characters was pretty damn flat with SOME exceptions(Ayane) but that was mainly due to not really building them up as such(As much as I like Kasumi...she has not really changed like Ayane has...at all) or they never really had the time to do so.

If anything, we've seen more feats from the fighters than anything about them who isn't ninjas.

Baymans 3 and backstories in one and two were better storytelling and characterization for him than every scene involving him in 5, for example.

What the hell, I'll try my luck. Hopefully I won't get bashed like the last time.

  • Dural and Alpha-152 would most likely be the central antagonists, since the face of the J2 Organization has yet to be revealed (canonically) in the VF series.
  • Seeing as Kage's mother was in fact Dural, and Hayabusa and the other Mugen Tenshin ninjas had also been used to create superhuman abominations, they would prove relevant to the roster. But seeing as there's only one ninja in VF, chances are DOA would have to compromise the ninja roster in this scenario.
  • Tina Armstrong would most likely become a rival of Wolf Hawkfield, thus spawning a US vs. Canada rivalry in the wrestling circuit. Likewise, La Mariposa and El Blaze is another easy shoo-in for the Lucha factor.
  • Jeffry and Bass would most likely compete to improve/modify their treasured vehicles... Jeffry for his Devil Shark, and Bass for his motorcycle he affectionately named after his daughter. Both characters have some of the most bone-shattering throws in their respective game.
  • Hitomi and Jean Kujo is a no-brainer. It has to happen. It MUST happen.
  • Helena and Lion Rafale both had relatives that got caught in the crossfire with said ambitious faction responsible for creating superhuman abominations, and to an extent, they both have a Bokuho stance. Hell, they're French, too.
  • Gen Fu and Lau Chan works because Lau's still finding a successor and Pai's still reluctant to become one. After finding out Lei Fei had an ulterior motive, he could consult with Gen Fu on finding the right pupil, seeing as he still has Eliot as a faithful one.
  • Jann Lee and Jacky... because, Jacky Jann Adventures, that's why.
  • Brad Burns and Zack is another no-brainer. Brad is a more straightforward playboy who specializes in Muay Thai, but Zack isn't too far behind.
  • Brad Wong and Shun Di are both drunken kung fu practitioners, and Shun could mistaken Brad for being the long lost student he was trying to find.
  • Vanessa Lewis and Bayman would likely work because they both have a similar tragic past and upbringing.

This is all I can think of right now. There are other possibilities I wanted to share, but I'm kinda pressed for time ATM.

I feel Vanessa is better paired with Leon. if only for being a genderswapped design. also Mila should be in for having the most grounded fighting style of DOA, and that's vfs whole schtick.

SPeaking of a maleish/tomboy character, I was playing this game called Lolipop Chainsaw where the main protaganist Juliet had two sisters, one of them being her older sis named Cordelia. I'd love a female like her in DOA
