They got it wrong with Ninja gaiden 3 yes ....but with doa5 ? i dont think they nailed it.. but i dont think they got it wrong either.
I agree with your last sentence with the aid of fan feedback they can make a game better....but since thats true what where they doing between 2005-2012 with the release of doa4 that they felt a doa5 update was necessary....so they had 7 years so..... i think your being too nice
Its easier to get it right the 1st time nowadays due to patches and updates whereas last gen this was not possible. I would be less offended if this was free dlc...

-''True fan'' vs being a Fanboy- I totaly agree with u on this, and if u dont want to just buy a updated version of your game for that mutch money u should not do it, no matter how mutch u like the game, but u have to understand that for them to make a new DoA6 they have to improve the game a lot more (not just gameplay and number of characters,graphics etc), and for this to happen they need to jump to the next gen, because at this point they probably cant do more with the current gen, my point in saying this is that theres a lot of ppl that prefer to have this kind of updated version of the game instead of wating another 3 or 5 years for a new one (like me =´D), I for one totaly agree with u on ultimate marvel vs capcom3, I got the first version and did not get the second one bacause they kept doing a lot of dlc bulls*** (buying the game again and them more dlc.... I mean come on capcom xD ) and the gameplay did not changed mutch, but in virtua fighter 5 case they changed a lot of stuff in final showdown and for the better (I had to learn lion again!yeah it changed that mutch)so it feels like a new one but still with the number 5 on its name bacause of the graphics =´) so as u can see in virtua fighter 5 fs case it wasnt a way to milk more money from us fans, it was a way to make a better game that did not improved enough to be called 6

While I respect ur principles mr isler the thing is that if I didn't buy it I'd see like all my friends online playing it and be jealous as hell. Plus I'd be left playing randoms on vanilla. So have fun with that

Havik youre missing my point. If allstars came out with an ultimate version dont you think all the good high level players would buy it? Exactly. So if someone isnt buying doa5u im implying i dont have to worry about them competitvely.

Well bandai namco is balancing and it seems they are finally putting Sakurai in his place since they removed tripping and ps allstars isn't dead.
Oh I see your point. People like Liz, Dabuz, and Blue would pick it up if they did an ultimate version of ps allstars, which isn't a bad idea....But yeah I get you man it makes sense when talking high level play.

It's a standalone game. Not compatible with vanilla DOA5, though vanilla DOA5 DLC is compatible with DOA5U.

Why not just spend the extra $16 to get the full priced game? That way you get all of the free DLC outfits they're offering from vanilla DOA 5 (you don't get it if you buy characters via F2P), and all of the character themes so that you can choose any song you want (Mila and Rig's themes are bad@ss btw).

I'd rather just buy Core Fighters if I can help it, since I'd only be playing Mila and Leon anyway. If I need to, i'd buy the DOA3 stages they added in, since all the DOA5 stages suck ass.
It's not that I don't want DOA5U, it's that I don't want to support Team Ninja going the way of Capcom and constantly rereleasing the same exact game as some new "edition".
