Why not just spend the extra $16 to get the full priced game? That way you get all of the free DLC outfits they're offering from vanilla DOA 5 (you don't get it if you buy characters via F2P), and all of the character themes so that you can choose any song you want (Mila and Rig's themes are bad@ss btw).
The free DLC costumes aren't available in the F2P version?

That...really sucks. Guess I'll be getting retail after all.

Yeah its very easy to miss b/c it's in small text but it says it on the site. I mean they are giving away almost $40 of DLC and the game itself costs $40 so I don't think that's too unfair (although there are many things TN has done that I think are pretty unfair).

I'll definitely buy it! I plan to get it for 360 first and then, for PS4 when its port for the next-gen plattforms is released.

Now you mention it, this time around I won't buy it for both consoles. Since the PS3 is far more popular in South America (at the very least in Argentina), I'm gonna buy for that system and that would be it.
On DOA5, I've found more people with +3 connections on PS3 so far. Most of them were super noob, tho. And if I had to guess they got the game only because it was given free with the PSN+ membership. I'll suppose it will be pretty much the same with Core Fighters being F2P.

Not that any of you care about this shit, but w/e.

While I respect ur principles mr isler the thing is that if I didn't buy it I'd see like all my friends online playing it and be jealous as hell. Plus I'd be left playing randoms on vanilla. So have fun with that

i just look at the bigger picture for gaming as a whole...

if your play competitively offline for money then thats a different story in your decision to buy or not buy...however tournament players will always be the minority of the FGC.

BTW i cant ''have fun with that'' because i dont pay for xbl Gold on my 360 i did not use the ''online pass'' on purpose
same goes for ninja gaiden 3

i dont own doa5 on my ps3 because i cant play it online because of that ''online pass''

I bet that damn near everybody who voted "no" ends up buying the game anyway. The really stubborn ones will buy the game and tell nobody.
i stopped supporting bad business practices
i support doa but not bad business practices

i kept my word not buying street fighter 4 AE ; EDIT and now ULTRA ROFL
i kept my word not buying UMVC3
I kept my word not buying Ninja gaiden 3 razors edge
i kept my word not buying Resident Evil 6 due to RE5 disc locked content
therefore i will keep my word and not buy doa5 ultimate

Im a huge FGC fan and supporter
however as an objective fan of gaming , as opposed to subjective fanboys who disregard the negative i have to keep my integrity and not support bad business practices like this.

at best all the games i listed above will all be purchased used but unlikely in the near future

I'll get it when it's at bargain bin prices and preferably a preowned copy. Furthermore, I'm not buying DoA 6 when it comes out, I'll wait for DoA 6 "Ultimate" XD.

I have the game pre-ordered now it's only costing me £22.99(equivalent to $34.59) from Amazon UK and I get the Team D DLC, that's a steal for a brand new game.

DoA5U Core Fighters is PS3 exclusive for the same reason Tekken Revolution is PS3 exclusive, MS either never got back to them or declined the offer.

There's still hope! It might come at a later date like the 1.03 patch did, but I still have faith it will come to 360. Especially since Microsoft annnounced that they no longer charge developers for patches.

I still hope for Core fighters to come to 360. I'm well aware that the chances are small, but as Jaguar said they no longer charge developers and microsoft are change internally so I still have a little hope.

Only for arcade games. DOA5U isn't an arcade game.

Microsoft has always charged a fee when developers first submit their games to Microsoft's certification process so they can be approved for release, and the company normally grants developers one title update free of charge. This remains the case, but sources have told Eurogamer that subsequent re-certification as a result of a title update is now free. This applies to Xbox Live Arcade games and full retail games.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but why would you even want core fighters? They finally made the improvements needed including tag mode, added 5 new characters (which is a BIG deal for DOA game), a shit ton of costumes (including ~$40 worth of DLC), all DOA music from 2-4, and the game itself will cost $40 in the US.

Why half-ass it now? This is the full version that you actually want.

I was talking to one guy and he was like yeah I'm getting F2P and then there's only 5 more characters that I want. I thought well you're already paying for half of the full version of the game with barely any of its features what's the point?

Literally the only thing I actually want is Leon. Ergo, Core Fighters would be a better purchase.

I guess it's cheaper in the end for him but Core Fighters is mainly to attract people that weren't planing on buying DOA5U. Some people may not be able to afford the full game but they may be able to buy a character or two. And some people might not be into DOA but they'll be able to try out the free version and they could end up buying it.

I'm glad because I don't have to buy two versions of the game. I can get the Xbox 360 version and play Core Fighters on my PS3.

See F2P = awesome demo. Once you start putting a hefty price tag on additional fighters though ($4 is a rip-off) then you're just getting scammed. But that's just my opinion and I can understand why some people would do it.

My points are
TN is doing the same that capcom is doing with SF and I don't support this kind of practice and IMO is not worth spend money on the retail version of the game and since I only play with Hitomi and Leifang for me is the only thing that I need, I don't have any intention of playing with the other characters, I don't care about the others characters.
These are my reasons for not buying this game.
