I've heard this so many times from many people. Man, is the ending really that good despite what people are saying is a grueling home stretch to the end of the game?

I'll hold you to that if that's the case. I expect it to be as good or better than the one in FFVI.

The second last dungeon is a nightmare. I've heard many say that before but I didn't let that impress me much. When it started I had an open mind about it...but it really became a grueling act. More I won't say regarding this matter. When we all have played it we can discuss why it sucked so much. XD
After that everything is however set up really well, the location, the atmosphere, the anticipation and the final boss encounters, as well as the ending. It's epic, it is beautiful...no, I will stop here to not cross into spoiler territory. ;)

I can't wait to venture in the dungeons, I remember playing Dragon Quest, and the dark atmosphere coupled with you having to stock up on supplies beforehand was an exhilarating feeling.

You're looking at a guy who has endured Final Fantasy II with all its oversaturated dungeons filled with encounter rooms and many, many cases of trial and error.

I think I'll live.

We all know how Altissia looks like [?] so I'm not spoiling anything, but I have to say it, I just got there and..... IT'S IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I wanna cry T_T
It's so huge, like a maze of streets on multiple levels, the Platinum demo definitely didn't do justice to it. I was afraid of it being lifeless, but so far it's not, though the thing I'm concerned about is how much of the city shown in the map is actually explorable, well... I'll know it soon.

Anyways, best FF city ever imo. Plus, I like how everything is written in Italian, even on the map xD

... It stopped giving me alerts so I thought no one was posting and then there's two new pages... Kill me.

Anyway sorry for not checking in but I just wanted to make sure I saw no spoilers but luckily I've completed the game now, ( I saw Tyaren that you've now completed it as well. :) ) it took me about 35 hours too but I won't get into fine details for a while. ( and yeah Tyaren that second to last one started to annoy me! )

Anyway I love the game and am playing it right now!

Edit: To think that In the space of this year I completed

FFXIII
FFXIII-2
FFXIIILR
FFX
FFX-2
FFtheatrhrthm
FFexplorers

All in preparation for FFXV which I've also completed now, this is the game that got me into the FF series!

Oh god lol that's hard to say, all of the FF's I've played so far have been so good and fun but they are also so different from each other so its hard to compare them. I'd definitely say though that FFXV lived up to my expectations of it and is every bit of fun as I expected it to be! I'm looking forward to the dlc its going to get.

I was very disappointed by it actually. Yes, it is beautiful (if you don't look to far in the distance were buildings look like toys) but it is also really restrictive and not that big either. Like half of the visble map you can't actually explore. It's just on the other side of a canal but you can't ever reach it. It's just window dressing, like much of the 2nd half of the game.

You do own Witcher 3, right? Beauclair is how it is done. Beautiful, big open city with so much more life and everything looks good in the distance too. Probably because you can actually go there...

Putting this in spoilers about Altissa just in case but if your past Altissa it will be okay.

Altissa was good and still beautiful, ( if it was real I'd vacation there. ) and I loved how there was a Vivienne Westwood store. ( I already said to Tyaren how cool that was ) I'm a big fan of her so I thought that was cool. My main problem with it was that it was restrictive so you couldn't look at the sights that easily. The journey into the city though at the entrance was beautiful though.

Also I want a "I <3 Lestallum" shirt because even though it's small that city is so nice and has such a good atmosphere. I'll be interested to see what they do with the dlc for the world and in the future if they continue doing stuff for the world if FFXV. I'd love them to go more in depth for areas of the world maybe we didn't see.

So I found a way to get over 900,000 EXP. Not even kidding. Whatever you do, do not sell your Rare Coins and Debassed Coins. You need them.

Neat. I'm still only seven hours into the game though, between work and school right now I don't get to play games as much as I would like (I just got to chapter 2 last night at 5.5 hours of play). I might bring the game with me to NEC just so I can actually play it.

I'm guessing Ultima Blade is a Royal Arms (whatever those are)? edit: Just discovered Royal Arms, nvm.

It's not. You can get it from via a quest from Cid. I'm roughly around the 80s in character levels but I hear there's a stronger weapon, have yet to find it.

Lol, sold them all. It was the only stuff I was comfortable to sell, because unlike items you will probably not need old coins for any quest or weapon/car upgrades. XD

I just noticed I didn't even upgrade my car to fly, even though that excited me so much in the past. O:

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo they were the catalyst for extreme amount of EXP lol, it's understandable though. I think I sold a few without me realizing this. I'll post it right now.

1) You need Rare Coins or Debassed coins. You just need roughly 20-25 of them.

2) Then you go to Elemenancy to create an Expericast with a Lv. 90 EXP Bonus by combining any 1 magic (fire, blizzard, or thunder - no need to use 99, just 1 of any will suffice) with amount Rare Coins or 20 debassed coins. You will receive 5x Expericast spells to use. Do this two more times with your remaining coins. You will not want Firaga/Blizzaga/Thundaga level spells because you will want to use as many spells as possible in a short time without killing a particular beast, so basically 1 fire, 1 blizzard, 1 thunder together, and then 20 of your coins or more in that catalyst spot.

3) Check the Wiz Chocobo Outpost and buy the Fat Chocobo Triple Decker sandwich for a 50% EXP boost. If you haven't unlocked it yet, just do the quests for the Wiz (the local "restaurant owner") until you complete "A Feathery Feast." It costs about 1000+ Gil.

4) Travel to the area just north of the Hammerhead and fight the Lv. 38 Bandersnatch (or Wyverns+Thunder rocs since they are quicker). Unload ALL of your Expericast magic in one battle with him. If the Bandersnatch dies before you can use all your magic, you can get him to respawn by saving at the Hammerhead and reloading your save, then going back to his location (but save beforehand of course). You should be able to hit over 100,000+ EXP. once you've used all your Expericast spells, provided that your 50% EXP boost hasn't worn out. This is the shortest part of this whole ordeal, as you should be able to use all your magic in less than 10min.

5) Go to the hotel of your choice to cash in your EXP multiplier (Galdin/Altissia). Obviously, Altissia will provide the most.

Someone found almost an exact similar idea I hear too, it's where I heard about the 50% EXP. I acquired 600,000+ one time and by the time I went to the hotel I literally hit 1,200,000 EXP.

I just checked cause you said that and I have like 3 lol! XD I'm guessing I sold some but I'm okay with that cause I'm not really a fan of that way of leveling up, but you can be the strongest bomb in FF history.

Nope, unfortunately I do not own it D:
Probably I got a good first impression of Altissia because I was there for a really short time, I just passed that section of the game and doing the following chapters right now, though I'll comment on these after I finished the game. I plan on returning to Altissia after I finish the story, so I can actually see where you can actually go, overall I liked the atmosphere though.

And yeah I didn't sell those coins so I still have them :D

Man...
The first free roaming open world part looks nice to play and comfortable. So sad to know the second part is not up to it. The contrast feels a bit jarring and it's clear they did so much cut-paste work with both Versus XIII AND previous XV footage.

Part of me feels like Versus XIII should've been what Nomura envisioned it to be, linear and story driven (which I still don't like mind ya), and have the open world comfy car pseudo MMORPG based on a personal experience be its own thing.

Still...I enjoyed this game. It was worth $60. I bought the premium, however I have no regrets.

Would still play it from time to time and may redo the entire game again at some point. Currently waiting on New Game+ and Level Cap for the experience again. Thumbs up on the eerie yet mysterious dungeon music because stuff like that motivates a player to seek the deeper truth on such a dungeon. I can't compare it to the past FFs before XIII because it is much different back then.

is the game really that short that you guys all have already beaten it?! damn.

Also Barret is way too lean in the FF7 remake.
The story part is much shorter than some of the previous game's.

Also agreed on that second statement. Cloud also looks weird and sickly which just does not work with his facade.
