Honestly, I would of preferred Hayate or Nyotengu. They'd fit pretty well imo but at the end of the day even though I'm not 100% satisfied with the character choices, I'm probably gonna grab this game anyways. Always have been a fan of the warriors games. I hope Yukimura gets his Sanada-Maru move set incorporated here though, cause Older Yukimura's move set is fucking boss.

Wanting Christie because she could have used guns and such with her moveset? That makes sense, I'm not knocking you for it at all, but don't pretend that Marie and Honoka cannot work for a Mousou game when the same can be said of any crossover character in any game, let alone a Mousou game.
Fair enough. Maybe I was out of line.

To be honest, I just can't stand them hogging the spotlight everywhere lately. But hey, if the kids love 'em, let them have their cake and eat it too, I say.

This is the main thing that's setting everybody off.

They aren't even real fighters in the fighting game they're in. It's a tiny loli who can't even really fight the others by the games OWN LOGIC, and cow who can't fight at all, just Charades other peoples moves.

They could maybe make Honoka work by giving her a um....what's that Todd mcfarlane guy from Soul Calibur 2? The guy who had an energy orb that formed into different weapons? Let honoka do that to have a hodgepodge moveset of the weapon movesets off the other musou characters. Her upgradeable weapons could be gloves.

But marie rose? Now there's no excuse for that shit at all.

I'm not knocking you or others for believing they are hogging too much of the spotlight...but let's be real, if they wasn't going to be in, it would have been Rachel and Momiji all over again like in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. It would have not been Christie, Nyotengu, Hayate or anyone else. That's pretty much how that works out.

Would I have been interested to see Nyotengu in Mousou Stars? Fuck yes I would, I would love to see how a Greater Tengu actually fights and goes nuts since we can barely see even an Nth of that in DOA compared to say Ninja Gaiden. But I'm not going to make up bullshit about how Marie and Honoka aren't real fighters(...seriously?) and they don't fit with the aesthetic because one Mousou game completely annihilates that argument to the ground:
latest

And no, not even Omega Force themselves thought to try and make Hyrule Warriors an actual Mousou game at first but Miyamoto was persistent as hell to make them do so. And people was definitely not on board at first for a Mousou game for freaking Zelda.

Maybe I was too harsh but dammit, I just tire of reasons like that, it's just as stupid as the Marie argument people love tossing around.

They aren't even real fighters in the fighting game they're in. It's a tiny loli who can't even really fight the others by the games OWN LOGIC, and cow who can't fight at all, just Charades other peoples moves.

...Argentus real talk, that's the dumbest thing I have ever seen you type and you type alot of stupid shit. What the fuck is a real fighter? Please tell me that because to be frank, almost none of the girls and a couple of the guys in DOA are not real fighters. Hell, the ninjas aren't real fighters by that logic because Ninjas are mainly Assassins, they don't fight, they backstab you when you least expect it and run away. Hell going even further a good chunk of the male styles are not even remotely compatible in an actual fight.

Hell, you seriously didn't even think that argument through when that can be plastered to damn near every woman in fighting games and most males for that matter.

Honoka works because she obviously has some trace of Raidou's power and she can easily copy off the cast of the characters from the game itself on top of her DOA moveset. And Marie can fight exactly how she does because that's how Mousou games work. Just stop typing please.

They put extra detail into character models and still somehow neglect other textures. Musou game, confirmed. I love the games but Hayabusa had better be excellent in this one or I won't get it.

If by attention you mean 'forcing' the world to like the characters, then yeah.

But in terms of design, Marie Rose and Honoka in logic shouldn't really have the capacity to kill anything. If Marie Rose kills a final boss who has the potential to destroy worlds....something is pretty wrong here lol.

I'd pick Marie Rose over Honoka even if it didn't make proper sense, but Nyotengu would of been the best choice here to make sense, as well as a 'strong' representative.
I'm late, but I did want to point out, Honoka at least gets to use "can copy any move she wants" as an excuse. Especially since she's apparently picked up Genshin's Underworld Drop for some reason.

Very true, though the copy ability is merely the tool of the character and isn't in explanation on what the character can do on a scale. Simply put, other characters within the DOA side have more potential to properly represent the cast. Nyotengu and Hayate are a prime example of this, even Hayate to whom I believe has one of the worst personalities in the game and spells lame literally all over him kinda deserves that entry since people requested that guy I hear. Basically fan service topples the essence on what a true star is suppose to represent. However I won't jump the gun just yet, there is still a large amount of time before this game gets released so perhaps there is more entry on the DOA side that can still be available. Either way, DOA characters wouldn't be my main focus on character using within the game regardless so it's rather whatever at this very case.

Honoka and Marie Rose are in the game of course, though the appearance to those two seems to be more in direct from popularity rather than taking the star roles serious. If they are in, then they are in.

Most likely learned it from Ryu since he was able to do the move himself.

Not possible. Genshin's version is custom made of his own, while Raidou's version is an originator. As far as i'm aware, the super ninjas within DOA/NG can come up with their own Izuna drop version if they are willing to go ahead and make one. Momiji learned one that isn't a direct version to Ryu's even though she trained under him.

If you mean Honoka, she can by default steal those moves, however it's the potency behind them. A move stealer does not automatically make them as strong as the original user. She only happens to do damage in DOA because it's a fighting game of selectable characters, however Honoka lore-wise still is unidentified, she's by default ranked on the middle ground until proven story-wise and not a true star yet to represent a game where other characters simply has more potential to be a better representative. Famous for body build and only for the sexual appeal does not automatically mean a better character.

And none of that matters if they are pandering to their popular status as you can say the same for Marie(which I know you would).
They are taking full advantage of their popularity and it would have been the same if it was Nyotengu or Mila.
