Wow, awesome surprise! I was resigned to thinking that non-PS players would never get any more VF until VF6, if even then... great idea to boost interest before that finally and formally shows its self.

wishlisted, will buy on day 1... tho my PC (laptop) may prove to be too sub-par (steam page already up, btw: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3112260/Virtua_Fighter_5_REVO/)

dat Engrish song in the trailer tho.. XD

It is based on Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown for PlayStation 4, adding a number of new elements including rollback netcode, 4K graphics at up to 60 frames per second, and game balance adjustments. It will launch this winter alongside a version 2.0 game balance update for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.

(now I just hope we get VF3tb Online released for PC and consoles soon too)

Yeah, I can't wait to buy it on Steam. I'm transferring most of my collection over to Steam and keeping my Series X for the boosted XBOX originals and 360 titles that are still bound. I'm 90% done with consoles, but they still have a few purposes. Japanese ecosystems require you to pay for Cloud Save and I'm good on that.

If anyone wants matches when it comes out hmu for Steam information.

Now keep this in mind: This game has the following...

  • Rollback Netcode, a first in the series.
  • 4K Resolution.
  • New Gameplay Changes (The PS4 and Arcade versions will also have it as well).
I do hope it's Steam Deck verified so that I can play it on the go.

Broskis, my heart jumped when I saw the announcement. All the nostalgia. Almost got wet eyes lol. Hope to see you guys online! Crossplay won't be a thing though? Steam forums are already complaining

Since no one made the announcement earlier, I might as well come out with it: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is one of the seven games announced for EVO Japan 2025. Both VF5REVO and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike will be 5v5 tournaments.

Why? That's because both The 19th Beat-Tribe Cup and Cooperation Cup Vol. 19 will be taking place at EVO Japan 2025 this year! For the first time ever in Beat-Tribe Cup history, a Virtua Fighter game will be run on PC instead of an arcade cabinet. It may also be worth mentioning that this week marked the 30th Anniversary of VFR and the 1st Athena Cup, which later became the Beat-Tribe Cup!

If Revo's getting a beta now, that means we won't be seeing an official release until... shit, February?

Man, that sucks. I was hoping to play something other than Metaphor before the year is out.

From what little I see, the game looks fun, it looks like they're taking more risks by getting more like a typical action fighter. Love the visuals, they look a bit like they took some inspo from doa and I noticed that Sarah's main flip has a different recovery animation. They're likely doing a massive kit overhaul for everyone.

Hope they'll add more hurt sounds tho, one thing I dislike about vf is that safe for the attacking sounds the characters are mostly silent aside from that one grunt they all do which gets stale. Hopefully they'll have more interaction and dialogue
