Wow, awesome surprise! I was resigned to thinking that non-PS players would never get any more VF until VF6, if even then... great idea to boost interest before that finally and formally shows its self.

wishlisted, will buy on day 1... tho my PC (laptop) may prove to be too sub-par (steam page already up, btw: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3112260/Virtua_Fighter_5_REVO/)

dat Engrish song in the trailer tho.. XD

It is based on Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown for PlayStation 4, adding a number of new elements including rollback netcode, 4K graphics at up to 60 frames per second, and game balance adjustments. It will launch this winter alongside a version 2.0 game balance update for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.

(now I just hope we get VF3TB Online released for PC and consoles soon too)

Yeah, I can't wait to buy it on Steam. I'm transferring most of my collection over to Steam and keeping my Series X for the boosted XBOX originals and 360 titles that are still bound. I'm 90% done with consoles, but they still have a few purposes. Japanese ecosystems require you to pay for Cloud Save and I'm good on that.

If anyone wants matches when it comes out hmu for Steam information.

Now keep this in mind: This game has the following...

  • Rollback Netcode, a first in the series.
  • 4K Resolution.
  • New Gameplay Changes (The PS4 and Arcade versions will also have it as well).
I do hope it's Steam Deck verified so that I can play it on the go.

why they release this near to new vf 6 release
To get hype, more players interested since it'll likely be on PC too and also the balance update to get some new tech circulating since they haven't really made any game changing updates in VF5FS

It's a pretty big deal for standalone release too.

The only possible way to even get VF5 on PC previously was from another series (Yakuza) by going to the arcades there within the game. Now VF has an official Steam version.
