Rollthrough doesn't have to be gimmicky though. It's cool because of the NG familiarity, but it doesn't have much to it. A tracking low that most characters don't have ANY trouble using.... and a punch that can launch. Which will NEVER fucking happen unless after CB.

Well i don't mind it. i didnt even know balances were coming until today. All i care about is Rachel, Momiji, and Mila. Everything else is bleh bleh.

DOAW got that many views in half the time in their main thread. I wish strategy got a little bit more attention, because that's what's supposed to separate DOAW (beginners + fans) from FSD (tournament level + hardcore).

You guys made it out to be like the 4chan of DOA, but its sounding like I shoulda focused there for the contests.

You want to know why her move list is astonishingly predictable? Her mix-up is fast for a heavy, but you can see it coming a mile away. Anytime after doing PP from P string she is fucked because if you fuzzy guard you will also likely dodge the low (OR high kick) if that's used instead, 3P is easy to parry, she has TWO options from her awesome looking, but shit side-step, her kicks are pretty much limited to mids, and we've seen all she has to offer 1,000 times over (unlike your character who has something new to find every day). So her best mix-up is the one you see Gehaktbal use at RoF3, and Sweet Revenge responded by not even using Genfu.

If you want to compare her to Leon (since for whatever reason that's what most people do) she wins. Why? Because Leon sucks. Why does Leon suck? He has insane throw damage that Rachel DOESN'T have. Every move he has might be a mid, but who cares when your opponent only needs to hold once.

A lot of Rachels issue is that she's a lot more gimmicky than Nicole was. (As demonstrated by comparing their command training).
Nicole would just hit like a freight train with straight punches and kicks, while Rachel is a lot more unwieldy, and relies more on setups.

My point is that if a character is going to be predictable, (Leon, Nicole, Rachel), then they need to have the solid firepower to make up for it. (Which only Leon and Nicole have but no Rachel). What I've noticed fighting Rachels is that if they can't set up her combos, she's pretty much SOL, which isn't a problem for the other two. She can't just HIT you.

I guess she's just not much of a power character in comparison. Or at all, in my opinion.

Meh. I prefer her other winpose, reminds me of the traditional Tengu Dance, also Bankotsubo chanting in the BG is a great homage to the OG Tengu

^That's easily the single greatest win pose in the game, hands down, since it allows you to hear Bankotsubo's godly voice.

If only this music could also be heard during it.

My life in a nutshell. i knew i wasnt crazy! i just can't hit anyone. ugh....what am i doing wrong? everything i do gets countered. and if i try to mix up they just hit anything and out poke me.

It depends how often you decide to get caught in the air. I can deal with getting nailed by Rod of Asclepius once, but twice in a round... I do start getting annoyed. But it's her primary course of action, and rightfully so.

mmmm not necessarily, I mean, TN did say back before(or right around the time DOA5 was released) that they were already messing with Next Gen stuff for online play concerning DOA6...

I don't exactly remember the source, but I do remember this clearly being said because it was like a good sign that DOA6 is gonna happen. I don't see why DOA6 couldn't happen within a few years?

DOAW isn't dead, it's just waiting for the next release. Which is why it's a fan site. Fan sites are popular near a release window, and most beginners go their because fans of games generally aren't great at the game they are playing.

I think that DOAW is a great site. When I was beginner it was the place I chose to go, along with lots of other people. It's not better than FSD, but it's still a big part of the DOA community overall.

To imply that FSD is only for intermediate and hardcore players is a fallacy. If that were true, I would've been exiled from this site long ago.
