I honestly do feel like fighters are sterotypical to their country and we do see that in doa, wow japanese people know ninjustsu and the american's know wrestling and mma?

I mean the only people who breaks the sterotypes of this rule helena, rig, eliot and lisa (i'm kinda iffy about putting zack and hitomi because those are well studied martial arts around the world lol)

You forgot Jacky, Christie and Marie.

Yeah I know there is a chance that if we get a Korean in the future that they may be a TDK user but that's only a chance. We already have Rig, and not saying that they still can't make them a TDK user but chances may be lower because of it.

We should really be more optomistic on these things

If TN plan to add a Korean fighter in the DLC characters for DoA5U, you can be sure that he/she will be part of this exception, considering as they added a Taekwondo user just in DoA5.

But that only adds up to 14 characters (16 if you add Kim Wu from Killer Instinct and Lee Won Hee from Xuan Dou Zhi Wang). Compare that to the hundreds possibly thousands of Chinese, Japanese, American, English/British, ect characters in Fighting games/video games.

Are Korean characters rare, maybe not compared to.some other nationalities. But they are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from overdone or usual.

We're only talking about Asians so leave the Westerners for now.

I'm quite sure KOF's Team Korea pretty much consisted more than just Chang and Choi. They had Jhun Hoon and May Lee as well as Chae Lim (heck, why not count in the strikers for Kim Kaphwan and Jhun Hoon from KOF2K?). There's also Seo Yong Song from Buriki One and Kim Dragon from World Heroes + a lot more that I won't mention.

Yeah I included them except for the two non KOF characters which add up to 18 which still isn't t alot in comparrison

My point is that yeah it is the third most used Asian ethnicity in FGs, but still far from usual.

If anything it doesn't matter how many other games have Koreans. DOA doesn't have one yet which means a korean can still be much needed

I have no clue where this obsession with Koreans and Krav Maga has come from.

It's not the appeal for the Korean culture, but rather the need to represent the most common gaming communities. Korea, South America and Australia have many DOA fans as well, and they deserve a rep. If Helena wasn't here, I would probably ask for a French fighter, not to identify, just to represent diversity and the whole community.

I don't want a typical Korean K-pop figure, rather someone serious and cool. Her nationality wouldn't define her/him, uh. She can be Asian and still be very different from Kasumi, Ayane, Momiji, Kokoro, Lei Fang (and Hitomi).

In all honesty, I'd hope she (or he) looked like a Kpop idol. It would make her (or him) stand out more compared to other Korean characters who are mainly the fighter/warrior type dedicated to their martial art. But a serious or cool female (or male) would be cool too

Don't care what people say, I still think a Korean female (and a Brazilian male) should be added in DOA

if we get a korean female in the future, she should look like one of the beautiful members of Girls Generation.

If we got a Korean female who looked likeany of the members of Girls Generation (mainly Tiffany) and was fun to play as in no way, shape, or form would I ever replace her as my main. :)

I just find it ridiculous to worry about ethnicity so much when the only thing to identify them is either a note in the description saying they are and/or fake accent that seems to offend everyone that's actually from there.
sadly true.
It's not "ridiculous" to want a character to have a certain ethnicity. It's cool to know that a game adds more varieties to it.
it is when there would be no way to tell they are of a specific ethnicity without reading character info like most DOA characters. unless they go the Captain Ethnic Stereotype like Pro Fang, Kokoro, and Jann Lee. but then there's characters like
You mean like the Arabic Italian, American Spaniard, Chinese Brit, German Japanese and the rigged Candian? ethnicity means nothing
those lol. odds are, a Korean girl would be indistinguishable in game from anyone else's ethnicity.

If that was the point people wanted a korean then sure...(actually are there koreans who play doa, i never hear about them)

But it still is nice to see a game have different ethnic groups in it. Plus if we gota Korean character, they may also have Korean clothing.

That's like saying I can't ask for a black male character unless they have the usual black male attitude that say Jax has.

It shouldn't be a problem to want different ethnic groups just because they don't act steryotypical. It may not matter to ya, but it matters to many of us

Like MB said, just because a character doesn't have a steryotype doesn't mean their ethnicity doesn't matter.

If you don't care then that's cool, but many of us do and think it's cool to have different nationalities in DOA

What is with this obsession with Koreans lately? lol. Besides, nationality doesn't really mean much for the majority of the characters in the game anyway. Let's focus on characters who have a decent chance of being added to the game right now. :p

Whag is the obsession with people bitching about it? It doesn't have to matter to you to matter in general
