If DOA had an new akido user, I'd prefer it to be male since Momiji is the akijutsu female, plus it be nice to have more calm male character in DOA (assuming he would be)

But if there is one thing this game truly needs that I hope is added in the future is........ A KOREAN FEMALE CHARACTER!!!!

Saw this design made by Kwonjigglypuff on DOAW. Her name is Ji Yeon

I agree, a Korean female is something this game needs. I would love if she looked like that and had that simular fighting style.

Asian novellas (mostly portrayed by either Taiwanese, Japanese or Koreans) are still a hit in my country even though I'm not into those sappy stuff.

Personally, I think the roster has enough Asians with just Chinese and Japanese alone.

I just hope she (or perhaps he) doesn't get the same archetype almost all Koreancharacters get which is the Taekwondo student/master. But with Rig being the Taekwondo fighter, I feel we'll most likely get a Korean female (or male) who doesn't use it

I have no clue where this obsession with Koreans and Krav Maga has come from.

Because koreans are cool and krav maga is cool :)

I honestly remember back before DOA5 vanilla released when many hoped that there would be a new female korean character in DOA, we even thought when looking at the leaked list that Mila was a korean name and that we'd finally get one. Some were even dissapointed when Rig was revealed to be a Taekwondo character thinking it would kill the chances of the Korean female we all wanted.

It may also be because some of us love Kpop and want a Korean female who looks just like a Kpop female idol.

As for Krav Maga, I think people want that fighting style because it would fit a agent like character (or Irene). It's also a fighting style I don't think was ever in any FG which could be another reason. I thinkit is a really cool fighting style.

I wouldn't really hope for more Chinese/Japanese characters, but I will totally welcome another asian character (mainly Korean) since outside China and Japan there aren't any other types of Asians you'd usually see in Fighting games (or video games as a whole)

I kinda don't want a korean because they're going to automatically be given tae kwon do as a martial art and we already have rig (i'm also going to loosely say sarah)

examples: Kim from kof, juri from street fighter, hwaorang and baek from tekken use tae kwon do style kicks and there are many others i can't think of right now

Again just because a character is Korean doesn't mean they have to use TDK. Hapikido is a Korean martial art, or they can use something not from Korea like Krav Maga or something

Seong Mi-na, Hwang Seong-Gyeong, Yun-seong, Juri Han, Kim Kaphwan and his sons (Kim Jae Hoon and Kim Dong Hwan) + KOF's Team Korea, Baek and Hwoarang are all from Korea.

I don't mind adding one for DOA but overall, Koreans in fighting games isn't rare and lacking as people think they are. At most, they're probably the 3rd popular Asians to get represented in fighting games.

I honestly do feel like fighters are sterotypical to their country and we do see that in doa, wow japanese people know ninjustsu and the american's know wrestling and mma?

I mean the only people who breaks the sterotypes of this rule helena, rig, eliot and lisa (i'm kinda iffy about putting zack and hitomi because those are well studied martial arts around the world lol)

But that only adds up to 14 characters (16 if you add Kim Wu from Killer Instinct and Lee Won Hee from Xuan Dou Zhi Wang). Compare that to the hundreds possibly thousands of Chinese, Japanese, American, English/British, ect characters in Fighting games/video games.

Are Korean characters rare, maybe not compared to.some other nationalities. But they are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from overdone or usual.
