the fact all these revenants are William is what's distracting. its like the issue you get with MMOs but worse because not only are you all the "chosen one" you're all the same dam person.
Immersion works differently for everyone. I'm aware I'm just playing a video game the entire time so I don't mind seeing things that are out of place for the world if it serves a gameplay purpose. I do get annoyed if people skip cutscenes in coop games or talk when I'm trying to watch something or hear dialogue though.

OK, not sure how closely the manga will match the game story (presumably relatively close) but it is freaking awesome that William partners up with a certain famous ninja! Not Ryu haha...

found the manga itself.

http://boards.4chan.org/a/thread/141315450/theres-a-new-series-that-started-in-bessatsu

in the manga it shows the bandit leader becomes the chain ball Oni you fight as the first boss however all of the stuff taking place seems to happen in the middle of the day, surrounded by tons of people. in the demo everyone has been killed by the time you get there and from what i can tell the mysterious ship doesn't play a role.

it's possible Nioh might take place after these events because one of the souls you pick up in the demo mentions that a foreigner left for a bit and didn't come back when they needed him, probably referring to William

also based on this information Hattori Hanzo might be a new playable character for numerous reasons.
1) the clear screen implied William won't be the only one
2)Hanzo wants to travel with William
3)there is a shared twin sword moveset in the game that both the masked Oni and ninja have that William can't use and would look rather odd for him.
4)there is an entire skillset just based on Ninjustu, maybe why it seems so limited is because it's not meant for William.

Lol the survey results on game difficulty and balance in America and Europe vs Asia. Goes along with that "episode duscae is too hard" complaint from them with FFXV

Durability is gone now? Did nobody figure out how to use the equipment repair items? Welcome but you got new weapons and armor so quickly it was hardly worth worrying over.
I don't think the conditions for the out of stamina animation are necessary. Just because the souls games don't discipline you when you run out of stamina and another game does didn't mean other games shouldn't.

KT shared some details for their E3 line up including this lovely piece of news

"Nioh is headed to E3 with more of what everyone loved about the recent Alpha Demo on PlayStation 4: more high-intensity combat, new weapons, never before seen characters, deadlier enemies and a whole lot of challenging gameplay. All Alpha Demo content will be available for those who have never tried the title.
