Well thats your own damn fault, I'm just getting a free patch lol.
You do know, that your "free patch", will only grant you the fat and ugly Last Round logo and the few fighting balance changes, that they made? So, not much really... No new characters, no new stages, no new costumes, no new customization, no new tag interactions, no new music options, (if you stay on PS3/Xbox360 also no graphical update). If you want those, you will still have to pay.

I'm hoping I can just pay the two dollars for the single costume I want like usual and be done.

Don't care about the rest.

I only found it strange, that you would say, it's Aerosparks own fault for paying, while you would get it for free. Aerospark will have a considerably improved game for his money, whereas you will just have the same old one...with another logo. Soon there will also be no DLC anymore for you to buy... So why's Aerospark's decision a wrong one and yours the better one, like you implied?

I was mostly just teasing that I don't have to buy a full new game because I'm upgrading from core fighters. (also lets be honest the DLC is mostly crap so I'm not exactly missing out on anything lol)

But Now I have to ask, how is two stages and some hairstyles qualifying as "considerably improved"?

LOL
It's pretty much the same game for us, too, though. They just gave us some extra softcontent (i.e. costumes, hairstyles, textures...etc) I wouldn't say it is considerable. Don't get me wrong; I'm buying PS4 version, too. But I want to make something very clear: This port (current gen edition) is not a prize. I don't feel like this is a thank you from TN. A "thank you" to fans would be DOA6. They better get started on DOA6. So in 3 years I can buy DOA6 Ultimate Edition. ;)

Lol, now you are purposely selective. ;) As you very well know, there's more in DOA5 Last Round for PS4/Xbone than just two stages and some hairstyles. Let's recapitulate:
- graphical update
- 5 additional characters compared to DOA5U (MR, Nyotengu and Phase 4 count too)
- 31 brand new costumes
- over 150 former DLC costumes included
- two new stages
- new hairstyles for the female characters + Brad
- new customization menu
- new music options
- new tag intros/outros and throws

Depending on how you value these improvements, it's probably a little less, than Ultimate offered over DOA5...but looking down on people, who feel, they want to pay money for these improvements, while you say, you get the patch for free but basically get nothing for it, is in my book a little dumb... >__>

Alone the 31 new costumes are normally worth 62$. (In a pack you probably will get them for about 30$. ;))

You forgot that you will probably get the bluey health bars. That's a plus.

not seeing any graphical difference aside from some additional particle effects and dimmed lighting.

All the costumes are still in last gen (at least I think so), and I only care for a grand total of 1 on of them anyway lol.
Don't like the new stages (ones an old stage I didnt even like back in 2u, the other is a novelty instakill combo stage)
New hairstyles are meh
We already have customization at character select
what new music options? the warriors orochi for the ninjas? That's all?
And I don't play tag lol.

Granted, my opinions are biased because I only use two characters, but seriously, I'm not seeing how that is really any better lol.

I try to objectively reason with you and all you deliver is:

"I don't like...meh!...I don't care..."

I mean, honestly, at the end of the day, it was nice enough of Team Ninja to at least let those who didn't make the jump to current gen at least get to upgrade to Last Round for free. Those staying on last gen probably do not care about the extras that the current gen versions are getting. Also, this is the FGC and most people expect new iterations of the same game anyway. It started with Street Fighter II and the trend is nothing new for games like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and the like. Team Ninja clearly want to make the $40 package of Last Round on PS4, XB1, and Steam worth our money. The biggest bonus for me was the fact that all of the DLC I purchased for Ultimate transfers over, which means that I do not have to buy the same costumes, but that also means I get to use the new costumes as well. It's up to the person whether or not they feel that it's worth purchasing the current gen version or just stay with the last gen version for various reasons. I'm actually glad that I now have a PS4 and will be able to experience the definitive version of Last Round, which is clearly on the current gen consoles.

I'm hoping for a silver Alpha - terminator style
You mean Dural style?

I think you have to also consider that they're doing it so they can move on to other franchises. I imagine a long time will pass until DOA6, and rather have all of that time still playing DOA5 on the "old gen" systems 5 or 6 years from now, we can play DOA5 on the current gen at tournaments until then.

That's the main reason I believe for Last Round's push on the current gen. Right now, there's still many people who haven't made the jump, but one or two years from now? Yeah, the competitive players will be happy then that the game was released on the current gen.

No, I know what you are saying, but I'm saying it amounts to little more than some minor fluff, so I don't see that as "considerably improved." The only actual arguable thing is the two stages. And even then, one stage (the doa1 stage) is a total joke stage, and probably will be banned half the time, (in both competitive AND casual), while the other is an old stage that I don't recall many people asking for.

You aren't being objectivel when you are trying to argue that the ps4 version is "considerably improved" over the ps3 version. I would agree to it being SLIGHTLY improved, however :)

Those staying on last gen probably do not care about the extras that the current gen versions are getting.

This is key.

In an effort to get us back on topic, how quickly into the release of DOA5LR, do you guys think the first dlc pack will be released and any prediction on what it may be? Maybe an interesting discussion or may lead nowhere..

Ninja 2015
Aloha
Beach Party
Showstoppers
Newcomers
Showstoppers Encore
Japanese exclusive swimsuits for Marie, Phase 4, Nyo, and Honoka
Gravure videos for Marie, Phase 4, Nyo, and Honoka

All of that stuff will likely be out within the first few weeks. Maybe even day one. I'm not personally expecting anything else during launch week, expect for maybe a debut pack for Honoka.
