Can someone explain to me why Momiji command training doesnt shoe that she has an advanced mid punch hold?!

Hidden move. Her CT also doesn't have her running H+K. It's an oversight of the staff, nothing major.

Besides, her advanced mid P hold does less damage than her regular one. The only difference is that the opponent can't tech for a certain number of frames.

Thanks Saber! I saw her running h+k b4 but didnt know the input :( for that either but i kept gettin hit with it thats what i when into the ct to find but that wasnt there either

So I tried to fight it as long as I could but I can deny it no longer. I like Momiji far too much to NOT play her so I'm picking up as a sub. I've been messing around with her in training mode and I gotta say I'm having fun with her double jump though it seems largely dependent on making your opponent respect your pressure. Though it kind of makes me sad how much easier it is to do some things with her than it is do with Kasumi.

Yes. Even her Izuna throw is easy and does good damage. It's a great option to use after a successful stun or CB. Playing her actually makes me feel like I'm good at this game lol.

Shoryuken have done a full translate job:


  • :6::4::h: Mid P Hold “Gosho-Guruma” damage increased from 52 to 58.
  • :P:: Guard advantage changed from 0 to -2F.
  • :6::K::K:: After being guarded, following Tenka :P: can be guarded by large characters.
  • :1::P::P:: Motion recovery increased from 22 to 25F.
  • Crouching walk, back-turn walk speed adjusted.
  • :3::K:: Push distance on guard adjusted.
  • :2::H+K:: Hurtbox adjusted.
  • Tenku :P:: Changed to half-rise state after completion of the move. Guard advantage changed from -9 to GB(-1)
  • Tenku :K:: Guard advantage changed from GB(+2) to -2F.
  • Tenku :T:: Changed to half-rise state after completion of the move.
  • Tenku :P:: After avoiding with Sidestep and performing a move, fixed bug where the move wouldn’t release in Momiji’s direction.
  • Tenku :P:, Tenku :K:: Fixed bug that made it different to hit at the wall.

Momiji loses her mid crush, busa gets his back? lol.

My guess is actually what's going to change is the hit reaction. Ryu gets that weird "sometimes trip, sometimes stun" thing going on with his that appears totally random. Not entirely sure if Momiji's is the same way, but it always struck me as odd. The opponent also staggers so far back you have very little good follow-ups on it. I would guess the change has to do with one of those two things, not the crush properties on either move.

Ryu needs the crush more than Momiji does, though. No idea what they were smoking when they made each the way they did to begin with.

I'm really interested in her back walk...
If it's quicker (unlikely) she'll be crazy good at mid range which sets up for :4::4::K: punishment like a BEAST. People will literally shit bricks from the power of her feint stun then.

I hope is is quicker. Then I'd play Momiji more for mind games.

They are really shacking things up. I don't know what they put in "critical on hit change", but I sure hope it means more follow up damage. The unstoppable god kick which has been Hitomi's nr. 1 go to move is now holdable by grablers and can't be followed up anymore at -5, that is huge! Further on her nr. 1 go to throw has reduced damage. I see everyone has gotten some real changes all around though, so this will be a whole new game! :eek:

It may be possible her 66K is now a lift stun. If its not a lift stun then i cant think of any other possibility. Just know that if it is indeed a lift stun this is a really good change for her and could possibly make 66KK a 2 in 1 in stun.

As for Momiji how do you guys feel about the changes? I'm going to miss neutral on block jab and hopefully they didnt make her movement speed lower.

Most of it seems pointless.
The Tenku changes are like "well we don't go up on block anyway" and the :T: kinda makes sense since that is really the only reason you would.

:P: change is abysmal. It isn't like it changes much but seriously, it was like all she had and it was just a high jab! Let us keep it.

:6::4::h: change isn't enough to warrant using it. More damage... yay? Only 3 higher than :4::h:.

The back step is all that really worries me tbh.

I still have no clue what that means tbh...

Wonder how much the :2: :H+K: Hurtbox was "adjusted"... probably won't crush any mids anymore.
If her Tenku stuff is less whiffy near the wall... I guess that's a plus at least^^
58 Dmg for and Advanced/Expert Hold is a pretty conservative buff as well... it's still the worst of it's kind, no?

Well I think the good news is "it could have been worse" :rolleyes:
