DOA6 Story Discussion

I like the ninjas story to the point I almost feel they need their own spin off Ninja Gaiden game. (Dont crucify me NG fans, I know it's Ryu's game) My only issue is that they focus so hard on the ninjas, they sideline their other characters who all have their own interesting stories as well. In fact, I feel like you can split the story up in 3 factions. The ninjas, Helena's crew, and the people there only for the tourney. It kinda feels like that's the route their taking in this game since the focus seems to be Helena, Marie and Honoka, but like I said, the ninjas drama runs so deep, can you really fit all this in one game and tell a good story without seeming like you rushed some parts? But I do enjoy the DOA story for the most part

Yeah I like the Ninjas, but you’re right in that too much time is spent on them. Also their story is too self contained and not really integrated with the other characters.

Also I feel like ironically not much has happened over the series with the Ninjas- all their relationships are still the same. Ayane still hates Kasumi, Kasumi still has a strained relationship with Hayate, Kasumi is still getting cloned, and Hayabusa is still there to just look cool and make sure things are okay. For all the attention the Ninjas get, I’d like something to significantly change or get resolved.

What’s neat though is that DOA6 looks to do that. Even from the little story we’ve seen, it actually feels like character and story threads are intersecting meaningfully and shaking things up. It’s very exciting.

I agree. The fact that Honoka may actually end up being another Raidou love child and half sister of Ayane has me hype. Is it coincidence the only ninja move she copied is Ayane's in DOA5? Raidou didn’t really suck in 5, he just didn’t had a clear gameplan and had nothing to get out of pressure with, with the exception of 2P. Raidou will already be a better character because of the breakholds. Also from the gameplay I’ve seen of him 1PP doesn’t result in a bounce but results in the opponent flying away so he can now use that as a keep out move, making him more of a zoning character.

So are we ever going to get to why Helena is so calm and collected when around Christie who very clearly implied that she killed her mother? She saw her in 5 and aside from a glare there was just nothing. She shouldn't be able to stomach the sight of her. I really wish we could get some revenge on deck or at the very least, a realistic reaction to her presence.

While we're at it, forget Honoka and Raidou, let Ayane talk to her pop before his inevitable death. That would make for some infinitely interesting conversation.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know the clip you're talking about, and it...wasn't translated well at all. To my understanding, the exchange went more like:

My Japanese isn't great, and I would definitely suggest asking someone else who knows Japanese, but I'm like 95% sure this is at least more accurate than that video.

Yeah, it seems the translation is bad due to not really putting in the right context. Taking care makes it seems like Helena wants Marie to kill Honoka rather than make sure she doesn't simply go evil.

I don't remember ever losing to a Raidou. I just feel if he's going to look bad ass he should be a bad ass too. He is important to the story, and I think people should fear fighting him. It wouldn't just add to the gameplay but the narrative as well.

I don't think they know each other personally but because they were both scientists from MIST maybe there was a sort of working connection. It seems like Nico believes she's superior to Lisa and maybe Lisa is trying to violently warn Nico about the danger she's in like Ryu did when he beat her up in the story mode. Their rivalry kinda reminds me of the one Chun Li and C Viper have tbh xD

As for that Ayane one, I think she may have that against all the ninjas like how Diego has a special quote against them.

That'll depend on if he does well in DOA6's system tbh, I hope he'll be a better character but I don't feel he should be automatically S tier or anything like that just because he's a formerly deceased boss character. If he has the right tools and priority this time around naturally then I wouldn't mind tho

So i guess they are going in some points to dissapoint fans. Especially when it comes to the Back Story of not so popular Characters . Well today im a little dissapointed. It feels now that its just going to be a doa5 Clone . Yes with some cool inGame Stuff to offer but with a Lack of real Love for the Franchise.

Im afraid they are making the same Mistakes they did with 5 . They seem to listen to us but on the other side not really.

Sry if im too critical but i was after all expeting more . Okay i dont own the Game yet , and it looks fantastic Graphicwise buts thats not all i want from an new dead or alive Game.

If they really add the 3 venus vacation girls as dlc im not buying .

I have issues with the presantation of the Game and the none existing options i wished for myself since 5 . Like they did in the older Games . But still missing it in 6



So ......not so hyped anymore .
