i would really like to see hitomi get more involved with the ninjas!! shes one of the only non-ninja/doatec characters to actually have interaction with them. i would really like to see conflict within herself, will she try to finally win the tournament or sacrifice her dojo and fathers illness to save humanity alongside hayate and ayane, i want hitomi to be that bitch!!!1! also this thread is kinda dead but idc lol

Think the thread may pick up when the game is out, maybe all the spoilers could be discussed here. And yeah I honestly could see a plot involving them with the Hitomi/Hayate thing and Ayane always getting annoyed around her, dimensions kinda brought up that thing with Hitomi wondering who Kasumi is too. Realistically though it looks like they're focusing on her friendship with Leifang for whatever reason. I don't hate it but it kinda brings both characters down imo. Hitomi should be super determined to win this time around and Leifang should do her own thing.

i agree and as much as i think leifang and hitomi are a great pair i do feel like it brings their character development to a halt:/

I would love to see her interact with the ninjas and Hayate more. At very least, more than just meeting Hayate, fighting, and leaving. Thats just so....unfulfilling to me. If they're gonna have some kind of romance, go for it. Let me see Hitomi interact with his sisters and see how Ayane and Kasumi get along with her. Sigh, honestly. And her friendship/rivalry with Leifang is cool and all, but they both have their own problems they need to solve. Hang out at Zack Island after you progress your stories

its sad bc id really like to see her character get more major roles in the series besides the tournament but it seems that from the trailers that marie and marie in a pink wig r filling those spots:,)

Yeah unfortunately, I didn't see the same video you guys did before it went down but I did see the first part atleast...

So Helena actually sent Marie Rose to find and "take care" of Honoka because she can't "deal with her".
This seems like DOA6 is actually the REAL starting point of the main DLC females so that means all of them really show up canonically at 6.

This is very interesting for alot of reasons, on top of going further on ultimately of why Honoka is now so important to not only NiCO, but now even Helena and possibly even the Mugen Tenshin.
It seems like we may not be too far off of either Honoka being a robot/homonculus/designer baby at this rate.

In my opinion, DOA has always had really strong and delightful characters, but generally unimpressive stories. Which is the case for most fighters, honestly.

That said, this leaked tease really seems like the story might be awesome? I don't know, there's really tight narrative potential here that I'm not used to seeing in a fighting game. Even in the little bit we see, we get a real feel for where Marie Rose, Helena, and even Honoka are as characters in the context of the story.

Much, much more excited about the story mode now.

Just say it's unimpressive and don't bother explaining yourself? I disagree, but I can explain why I disagree. Think the narrative has very good structure compared to Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur that try to be bigger than they really are and talk about stupid realms and laws and rules that nobody gives a fuck about.

DOA brings up life issues that hurt people outside of just a god dammed fight: rape, family trust issues, running away from problems, rising above abuse, drug abuse... what the hell is wrong with it?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know the clip you're talking about, and it...wasn't translated well at all. To my understanding, the exchange went more like:

H: Thank you for your hard work.
M: Ah, Lady Helena! Do you have some business with me?
H: I have a very important request I'd like to make of you.
M: Ah...
H: Please hear me out, Marie Rose.
(fade)
M: This girl is...amazing.
H: You're going to make sure that power won't be misused.
H: You can do this, right?
M: Understood. Please, leave this to me.

My Japanese isn't great, and I would definitely suggest asking someone else who knows Japanese, but I'm like 95% sure this is at least more accurate than that video.

I like the ninjas story to the point I almost feel they need their own spin off Ninja Gaiden game. (Dont crucify me NG fans, I know it's Ryu's game) My only issue is that they focus so hard on the ninjas, they sideline their other characters who all have their own interesting stories as well. In fact, I feel like you can split the story up in 3 factions. The ninjas, Helena's crew, and the people there only for the tourney. It kinda feels like that's the route their taking in this game since the focus seems to be Helena, Marie and Honoka, but like I said, the ninjas drama runs so deep, can you really fit all this in one game and tell a good story without seeming like you rushed some parts? But I do enjoy the DOA story for the most part
