I just realized that if Raidou is getting nyotengu'd, then someone is inheriting his moveset (duh). However, it wouldn't make much sense for any random dude to have a Mugen Tenshin moveset, but it also wouldn't make much sense for a Mugen Tenshin ninja to have a bunch of random attacks from other characters. It makes me speculate about just who could possibly inherit his moveset.

Of course, Raidou might be returning as is because the article doesn't actually claim that Raidou is getting Nyo'd, just that it's a possibility.

If the "perhaps" come from an hypthesis based on reading between the lines of official statements, you can consider it as confirmed: the previous interview of TGS had not hints about a restyling of the male character.

However it's always possible that this could be speculation coming from other sources, so in this case could mean really nothing.

I honestly don't see what the big appeal is with having Raidou come back. I'd much rather have a brand new character with a new chinese martial art, not some dude that doesn't matter with a "modified" set that we already have 20 different versions of anyway.

Although, I would think it would be pretty cool if he did happen to come back and Kasumi had a personal intro with him when she fights against him, something like... "This can't be! " or "No..... you're, you're dead! " something shocking idk... but that would be the only thing I'd like lol

No, I'm just apathetic and tired of people whining about something that they don't really care about.

If people were truly dying for Raidou's return, they would have been asking for him since pre-5 vanilla's launch, as they were with Leon and Tengu. But there wasn't even a peep. Raidou is just something that people picked up on after TN wrecked Tengu, seeing it as another chance to get some old male character in that hardly anyone ever played. Because asking TN for a bunch of stuff is really trendy. But now people are "devastated" that their favorite character they never asked for and never played might not come back? Uh-huh.

Well, like I said more times I appreciate all the characters of DoA and I would like to see the return of the old bosses or the entry of Irene, but what I considered a priority for the series is always been the return of the tengu-do (preferably with Bankotsubo) after the return of Leon, Ein and Spartan's moveset. After Nyotengu I continue to have my preferences, but I willl accept everything Team NINJA will propose us without thinking that they have necessarily to include "that character".

By the way in DoA1 my main/most used character is Raidou - even in the PSX version - so I definitely can't say to not like to play with him =)

PS: However for fairness has to be said that, more than one time, Emperor asked for Raidou even during the period of requests for Tengu.

I personally didn't request Raidou, but I'm ready to welcome him, provided he brings something new.

Problem with Raidou is that he had no real individuality, something Ein, Leon and Tengu had in previous installments. Ein was a very straightforward striker, Leon was a blunt powerhouse (with no option from backstance) and Tengu had Tengu-do which was very wonky and powerful.

Good thing is that these three characters' movesets were not as detailed as in DOA5U before, and TN did a great job in DOA5U to rework them a little bit, so the same thing could happen with Raidou's moveset.

My hope and guess is that he will have even more iconic moves from other characters (same damage/properties) + Sky Torn Blast. He should have some technics from Genra too. He's nothing more than a mimick character to me after all, but that's a good thing. He just needs more mimick moves.

he would have no reason to have his character adjusted since hes alive and relevant.
