I think it's a shame that MK trades on excessive gore, because there are some legitimately really good character designs in the series. The fatalities used to be kind of funny and tongue-in-cheek for the first few games (ex: multiple skeletons, humorous sounding death wails, etc.). Things got...

What does DOA mean to you?

The polarity between individuality and family seems to be the central theme of DOA for me.

Is Helena the real protagonist of DOA2-4?

I like the idea of Kokoro potentially joining MIST, but having Ayane kill off her mother to get there seems a bit too drastic imo. I think it would be more interesting to have a Luke/Vader-esque moment between Kokoro and Miyako, wherein Miyako offers her the opportunity to join MIST. This could...

Is Helena the real protagonist of DOA2-4?

Given the story told in DOA6, I think Team Ninja is in a position to make Kokoro's story a lot more compelling and give her more agency as a character.

@samuraihachi Did you get to have katsu by any chance? I've been trying my hand at making katsu curry lately - it's really good!

Yeah that's not what I said lol. What I was trying to say is that my next personal favourite character, after NiCO, would be Hitomi. As for who should be the face of the series, Kasumi is of course the best fit, while second best fit to represent DOA I think would be Marie Rose (because she's...

My second favourite character would probably be Hitomi.

DOA6 helped me to discover that I occasionally enjoy cross-dressing. Not just any video game can do something like that, and I think that definitely counts for something.

I don't think I've ever seen an image that better conveys the concept of "serving cunt" than this one here. Even if Kasumi isn't my favourite character, I will never deny that she is the perfect character to represent DOA as a franchise.

I think it would be good for the corridor on the other side of the glass to lead to another staircase - there is currently only one staircase on Unforgettable, and it's rather secluded. A second staircase would provide players with another access point to the lower level of the stage.

Since I've only played DOA6, I don't really have much to compare it to in terms of difference in mechanics. One thing I would add, however, is an extra area in the Unforgettable stage. There is a segment of glass windows on the upper level of the stage right beside the bar, behind which is a...

I've never seen Death Note, but from what I understand, don't you need to know someone's name in order to use the book against them? NiCO is her codename/alias, no one knows her canon real name (aside from Victor Donovan and maybe Miyako). In any case, I never bet against my Queen NiCO

Back in 1997, there was gonna be a DOA port for N64!?

I don't think so lol, I never saw it in the big cardboard box with the other N64 games and cheat code printouts

Back in 1997, there was gonna be a DOA port for N64!?

Oddly enough, the first fighting game I ever played was Mortal Kombat 4 on my Dad's N64. I wasn't any good at it (and it wasn't a very good video game in retrospect) but the sounds the characters made was funny as hell. I wonder if my Dad would've played DOA on N64, if such a port had existed...

NiCO at number five - that's pretty good! I'm a bit surprised that Hayate is so low on the list.

When I joined Free Step Dodge, it was because I had made the assessment that it contained the most forward-thinking and welcoming segment of the DOA community. I am very pleased to say that this still holds true, and I am glad to be here. But it's also true that the "DOA Community" as a whole...
