    Estival had good gameplay, a real step up from shinovi, especially for pvp which was the real stand out imo. The dynamic L canceling system added a layer of depth you don't expect to see in SK games, even if it did make the game completely unbalanced and allowed some characters to straight up break the rules of the game (looking at you asuka mains)

    Burst renewal mean while is weird one, on one hand the dynamic L cancelling system has been removed so all moves have the same priority regardless of action, which makes it way easier to optimize your offence but not as complex or exciting as it was in the past, and there's no multiplayer, which blows. But on the flipside it plays like no other SK game

    For one its much smoother (enemy numbers have been cut down significantly) and slower (so you can actually react, which means parrying is viable), but you don't have as much super armor as you did in past games and your health is way lower, so wading in mashing buttons gets you killed super quick, so it's an interesting direction they gone in, can't wait to see what they do for 7even

    Wesker wear shades and doesn't fall off with the amount of front and backflips he does, as well as moving insanely fast. Never fell off during previous REs and also wore them in the dark when he was human lol.

"how could they survive X?". these disbeliefs can be suppressed using the fact that they are tied to game mechanics, and just because you could get away with A, B doesn't mean you should tip the scale further with C, D, E

    is such a representation absolutely necessary?

    Technically on paper that would be awesome, but the less competitive/technical members of FSD might get intimidated by it if they're less knowledgeable or experienced with gameplay mechanic related things.

    It's far too late to bring up face recycling in a series that, for two decades, served you Kasumi's face and model in different wigs, then toothpaste Kasumi, then LITERALLY Kasumi, plus Tina and Christie also having the same face and pose. That's how things work at Tecmo. We even used Kasumi's face for the Fatal Frame 5 protagonist!

    Tekken 7's own fiasco died down quickly and never got brought up again. I hope other communities can at least act as level-headed.

    You could see from DOA5 Alpha that TN's vision for DOA, continued with DOA6, was simply to make DOA the "cool fighter" while also possessing the depth & complexity of modern fighting games. In an ill-conceived move, TN unfortunately succumbed to the bitching about the "reduced titties" and decided to add more fanservice to DOA5 (starting from the 1st bikini DLC onwards).

    However, I like how TN is handling DOA6 so far: they're making the game look cool & awesome 1st while gradually reminding any concerned fans that the fanservice is still there if you're into that kind of thing (which was most evident at the TGS & DOAFest showings in Japan). So far they have stuck to their vision and haven't succumbed to the non-sensical "SJW" bullshit. Good on them.

    Yes, DOA has not been respected from the start for the reasons you listed, but during 5 the go to points people had were bad mechanics, fanservice, and characters looking alike. I don't know how many times I saw it but if complaints of reusing faces and bodies does not contribute to people having less respect for DOA then I made the wrong assumption.

    If you were making a character that flashes handsigns and rambles on about science, at least fill it with EXPRESSIONS. "Mature" is a total meme when it turns a character into an inoffensive, emotionless doll as a result. And in this case it clashes horribly with the actions.
