Looking back at this thread now, I realized something.

I never taunt.

Lies. You taunt me all the time, Awesmickie, when we used to play. Unless, they were accidental but they were at the end of matches so...I dun believe you. e.e

no, i don't taunt. i see no good reason to. i think it's low class, and win or lose, i won't play twice with someone who does. i know it's a dying concept, but i believe a competition should be fair and honest, and that one should lose or win with grace and sportsmanship. taunting is like giving the finger to an opponent. for me, winning is good enough. why kick a person when they're down? yes, trash-talking, dick-waving, and arrogant bragging have become accepted in pretty much anything competitive, but that doesn't make it right. from a practical standpoint, if i have time to taunt during a match, then that time imo is better spent on offense. if it's after a match, well, every character's victory pose is taunting enough. and lastly, getting yanked off the floor and called a lazy bum is plenty degrading! especially considering how many times i will do it to you!!

Well based on personal experience I've learned the fastest way to have an online opponent disconnect is by taunting during the fight but I think there are appropriate times and it depends on the actual taunt. If I was versing Ayane for example and kept hearing "Loser" obviously I wouldn't want to play with that person again. But if I heard Hitomi before the round say "Here I come!" or heard Eliot say "Quit fooling around!" b/c someone is spamming the same move over and over again then it's more acceptable. Basically it depends on the context.

Taunting inspires me to beat them more. Other times, it's like communicating. Some uses inclnclude a silly taunt like Zack's dancing one I usually go for a giggle taunt with Kokoro which in context means "Hehe you're being silly."

Other than that, taunting inspires me get runbacks until I win or they realize that taunting is nothing to me. So even if I lose, I've learned to bare with them because it's all on me for letting them win. If anyone wins, they can taunt as much as they like since you did win. Take heed that if I beat your taunting behind, don't throw a fit haha. I won't taunt you back, but I sure will be smirking a bit.

I personally dont taunt because I think its no fun at all, and it helps keeping a good relation with ur opponent if he loses.but I dont think its annoying as long ppl dont talk trash, Im talking about trolls, sad ppl, nerds, kids (Im not referring to some1 age).something that I find really annoying (I dont know why xD ) is when ppl keep hitting u with low attacks after KO
Oh! I sometimes I taunt for fun with a xboxfriend (LokusBluete),we do that for fun sometimes, but its all friendly

Why do people get offended by a video game character taunting them?
The only taunts I get mad of are the people who say crap through their mics.

some guy called bayman007 kicked me from their lobby the other day and sent me a bunch of hate messages for "taunting". thing is, i never taunt. i don't even have a taunt button.

i wasn't hitting or moving around or anything after the fight was over, just standing there. he seemed to think that dokuritsu-ho (:4::K:) and kasenko (:4::6::P:) were taunting...

...seriously? what the shitting nippledicks. those are decent moves to use during a fight, why wouldn't i use them? *sigh* some people.

if he gets so upset over character animations then maybe he shouldn't be playing video games.

Maybe he doesn't know that Brad's a character that can't stay still while standing.
