I like her but she's not a top 5 for me, so far that's relegated to Yukino, Shandy, Elise, Tamaki and Reika. At first I hated Luna but then I realized she's supposed to be a bit of a comic relief character. Unfortunately, VV doesn't have writing good enough to convey that.

Yep! XD i love this fest especially since idk what it is but the gacha for trendy outfits seems alot more generous this time, I'm at step 6/8 and used mainly trendy tickets and the usual bulk of stones you get from doing the D to S rank festival matches and I acquired pretty much every other girl I wanted, even Leifang just now too xDGuessing it was these? @KasumiLover

Funny you should mention Metal Gear Solid as a comparison, because some rather bad decisions Kojima made with the story and even characters was actually the reason I got into Dead or Alive. If anything, I'd argue Dead or Alive had better writing than the latest Metal Gear games like Peace Walker or MGSV. Besides, I think a story that has its writer constantly retcon it hints at a weak narrative rather than a truly strong narrative.Damn, those graphics look kind of like the Switch!
Anyway, I get sooooooooo tired of the "bad writing" comments, not just for DOA but for other excellent pieces of entertainment. I think the dates and stories do exactly what is intended for them to do. Turn you on a little bit while giving you some insight on the character and their feelings. This isn't Metal Gear fucking Solid or Death fucking Stranding. It's a lighthearted, relaxing game on the beach.
If you want strong narrative go read a Song of Ice and Fire or Lord of the Rings.
You shouldn't have to, I know for me when I try to play after an event ends, it'll say my data is corrupted if the latest update isn't installed which usually loads after I exit outWriting and humor might be better in Japanese and it could be just bad translation/localization... because I have noticed that some translations in the game seem pretty damn off, and that's not a new phenomenon for this series in general either, lol. I actually wish I there was an option to turn off the subtitles entirely tbh (during gameplay I mean, not event/story, tho I mostly skip those anyways depending on the characters involved).
But man, kinda pissed that I had 1h left for the last event and had a bunch of rock climbing left to do, but for some reason the update for steam wasn't working for me and kept saying I had an incomplete download of the installation files @_@' I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the whole game or something.

You can have lighthearted games with good writing but Venus Vacation isn't one of them. I'm not arguing this should have some Lord of the Rings world-building but play any other gacha released in the past 2/3 years. Azur Lane, Blue Archive, and Nikke also have tons of fanservice, lighthearted moments, serious moments, and everything in-between and the quality is magnitudes higher. Venus Vacation is a game stuck in 2017.If you want strong narrative go read a Song of Ice and Fire or Lord of the Rings.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with liking something flawed. I have hundreds of hours in VV and I still like the rare good episode content and interactions Tamaki has in the game.
