DLC data generally isn't part of an update though. That's what the costume catalog is for.
Lol, stealth DLC releasing. XD It seems as if they don't want people to know about new DLC anymore. Now it's at some point suddenly there and before they always made at least some fuss about it days/weeks earlier.
Marie Rose, Phase 4 and Nyotengu were also promoted half a year before their release... Naotora is actually still not officially revealed and in a month or two she will already be released. o__O

While it's not the DLC data itself, usually the update brings in the new coding related to the latest DLC.
For example, the transformation DLC thingy.

im being overly optimistic but i sort of hope the update is so large because theyre adding a volleyball minigame for thse who cant get doax3 (i know, so unlikely its stupid to even consider). maybe theyre just setting things up for the new girl; new stage and such which will be unlocked once purchased. makes me wonder whether or not she'll get a private paradise since she's a first party property...
