It's weird to like DOA and do not like to have female fighters in the game.
Females have a very strong presence in DOA and I think this is a very good thing. Sadly TN use this to sell sex, but aside from this I think is good to have at least one fighting game where women fighters are majority (and not that much 19 women, 15 men in DOA5LR, in other games you have 20 men and 4/5 women...). If you prefer game with more men, well, you have plenty of them: Tekken, Virtua Fighters, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, KOF, Mortal Kombat, Injustice, KOF, GG, Killer Instict, etc.

Not that I really buy the rumour, but it would be crazy to include Miss Monday without first introducing Yaiba
Yaiba would be a nice addition to the game. Yes, I know.. Another ninja, but still, I wouldn't mind to see him in DOA.

@Shiranui , you covered the point more nicely than I would have said it, lol. If people want a roster balanced differently, there are already a ton of choices. People can stop trying to put 'not DOA' into 'DOA' because then it would be 'not DOA' simple as that.

I know there are some people that liked Yaiba, I'm not one of them, but I think the business aspect would drive the nature of including / excluding of characters. If the Yaiba game left a sour taste, by including the very icon that people most associate with a game that was not received well, it runs the risk of not being received well as an add-on for DOA. Miss Monday was more well received piece of the game and resonates with DOA's style and would naturally sell better.

I typically prefer legacy inclusions first so I'd rather see Irene & Genra happen first, but if Ms Monday does happen and the other two eventually follow it's still win-win.

they pretty much gave yaiba to raidou (cybernetic ninja brought from the dead) but Yaiba would've been wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more fun. he would've been the fastest ninja in the game and the most entertaining because of how sarcastic and vulgar he is. and he would've had a lot more costumes to debut with, like the school girl one, the cat suit one (thats nuigurumaa, not yaiba my bad) and the mega-man-esque one.

i would prefer new male characters too, tho.

The most ideal situation is that there are equal numbers of male & female characters >> 50/50 DOA is not far off from that. Since the beginning, TN has always given preference to its female cast even when the roster was skewed the other way. Whether DOA gets more or less, whatever, just let TN do their thing, but to say that that game 'should' or 'shouldn't' function a certain way just to accommodate a small sub set against the much larger scope is just silly. Everyone wants everything... Reality: Not gonna happen. Preferences are cool, TN listens to requests, but that doesn't mean they're going to instantly change their values.

Am I the only one who thinks Miss Monday would be fuckin dumb to have playable? Also just because there is a balanced of gender doesn't mean people play them. All I ever faught were the same females or Hayate/Bayman.

Did you just say I'm weird?!
(yes, I'm weird :'( )
No but actually it's a bit different. I of course love female characters, but I hate JP games with only female characters (we can all think about a few 2D titles like that).
I liked the balance there was in DoA between female and male ones. A few more female ones would have been more than welcome for me, but from my very very very personal point of view we passed the threshold of acceptability and we're slowly walking towards those games I was talking about a few lines above.
Think about the new characters in the DoA series that were added in DoA5 and following updates.
Let's leave aside the VF characters for a second. How many male characters? 2.
How many female characters? I think it's... 8?
Now it's gonna get to 9. Yaiii.
See what I mean?
I'm not saying this is *wrong*, just that I would've liked to see a bit more balance instead of exploiting fan service so much.
It gets even worse when you see the additional bonus costumes and see how many of them are mainly just about getting the female fighters as undressed as possible.
I mean a few are fine, some are actually very original and I liked them a lot (Helena's Xmas costume, some Bikinis, some more).
The problem is that they overdid it.
Imho, of course!

Goin more specific, before seeing new characters (wether they're male or female) I would love to see other strictly doa-related characters that are currently missing.
They could re-invent Shiden and they could add Genra/Omega, which already had an interesting moveset in DoA dimensions tbf (Raidou too uses his DoA Dimensions moveset after all)

Are you saying you don't see characters like Jann Lee and Hayabusa often?
How odd, I think they're among the most played characters in the game.

This Miss Monday thing sounds awfully legit...I hope this is true!:) As for the BGM that @Kronin mentioned that plays at the end of the fighter force trailer, it could very well be her theme, because DOA focuses on a traditional and ambient soundtrack, while Yaiba, based from the tracks I heard uses alot of electronic music with a dirty, but darker vibe than DOA.

... and in the end with a plot twist TN will troll everyone releasing as new character from the NG series Mizuki or no one at all xD

I agree, when I hope for more male characters/balance between the genders is not for a sexist matter or because I dislike the currente females, but just because I really fear that this could end to be the fate of DoA if no one manifests a different intention.

Think about the new characters in the DoA series that were added in DoA5 and following updates.

There are many exceptions to do (from already existing characters to already existing movesets), but putting only aside the VF charas we got 4 male characters (Rig, Ein, Leon and Raidou) and 7 female characters (Mila, Momiji, Rachel, Marie Rose, Phase 4, Nyotengu, Honoka). The situation in absolute wouldn't be bad considering that there is a sort of 2:1 ratio similarly to what happened with DoA3 or DoA4; but the problem anyway is that 3 of the 4 male characters are actually characters from the past (and two of them included in the previous game and taken for granted from everyone was expecing a new title of the series after DoA4).

Assuming that they would have been all included since the Vanilla, would have TN released anyway 3 original male characters in their place? This is the real question that imo should be made: if the answer is "yes" personally I would have no problems with a similar course of the events for the roster of DoA6 and updates... the thing is that I'm not so sure of it in the current situation.

That conversation literally sounds like the one that me and @EMPEROR_COW had about Miss Monday using a fighting style that reflects how much of a snide catty bitch she is. I will say this, I probably want her in the game more than any of you here but those rumor posts sounds like a shitty troll to me. I hope I am wrong though.

Well, to be fair this is an easy prediction to do considering the personality of Miss Monday xD So effectively this element alone doesn't say anything about the veridicity or less of the rumor (but the same it would be true if someone should start to talk about the addition of Irene using a fighting style from the CIA: this would be again something too much logical to come with).

Idk why people are complaining about more female characters in the cast when the games gender ratio is way more balanced then damn there every other FG. I agree it's nice to see a good amount of female representation in a fighting game.

Anyway Miss Monday would be pretty cool, we don't have a punkish character in DOA so she would add that and make some variety.

I agree. I would not be complaining with the inclusion of Miss Monday, but I wouldn't mind having in Yaiba as well.

they change the story mode for miss monday but how about marie, honoka, raidou and tengu/:mad:

They wouldn't have changed anything but just included a scene of a bunch of seconds that would literally show the character of Miss Monday and stop... but overall remember that this is just a rumor with high chances to be an HOAX: we have to not consider anything confirmed.

Akumasama and me explained that our thought is not based on the current composition of the roster but rather about the potential of what could happen in the next game based on the premises of the DoA5 series. If now there is still a balance, a new game has serious chances to break it. TN already know that its fanbase like its female creations, let's demonstrate to them that there are fans even for the other gender that want old/new male characters too. I don't think to be the only one to like, play and find them cool (and I'm not talking only of Ein).

Talking about Yaiba, honestly I like him and to get a character vulgar and antihero as him it would be very funny and cool xD But sadly I think that there are no chances for him after Raidou (even if maybe a tag team between him and the DoA1 Boss could be a nice idea considered from TN...).

For me the higher chances for a DLC male character are in Donovan, however to get Genra or a male character not ninja and young it would be very appreciated from many people.

Because Helena decided that was time for a "cut"...
