Suprised so many people love Depth. It won't be an iconic stage, but it's the one I love the most too, because of the lighting and because of its simplicity.

We need to support this idea. It should have been i Last Round already..

idk why but I get the feeling they're going to be a little upset you snooped through the files and shared this with everyone
I had that feeling too, but at least it's not nude mods or anything. Plus if you think about it, they probably figured something like this would happen, because when you make a game accessible to PC users, they're gonna go into the files and uncover a bunch of hidden stuff that wasn't meant to be seen. Kind of like the like the Hot Coffee mod in GTA:San andreas.

Another nail in DOA6 PC's coffin.

If you think about it there's a 0.005% chance of them implementing this. It'd be a huge change to an old stage because someone found some unused stuff. They can't even really promote a dlc character with it. I do have an idea of how it could do a stage transition though. After hitting someone into one of the four machines, the laser sidewalls might get weak and hitting someone into them would cause the character to break through and fall like the railing at the top of lorelei.

Depth would have been so much more interesting with that level! I cant imagine TN implementing this now though..

I think it was scrapped because of limitations, or it was supposed to be used in Story Mode, but time constraints prevented it from seeing the light of day. It could happen though, because Phase 4 was most likely not planned until the 6th game, but after the DLC sales success and Arcade scene growing in Japan, they decided to make her playable. And Rachel players have been begging for a loose hair option ever since her release in Ultimate, and they finally added it in LR. It could happen:)

Rachel's long hair isn't really comparable to a stage tho. And Phase probably took less effort than Rachel's hair ;p They won't even give us destroyed lab which is completely made and playable in story mode so I won't hold out hope for this. ):

I see your point. They seem mostly focused on the Japanese market. Westerners come second for them I think.

westerners were the main market when DoA5 first released, it wasn't until around the time Marie Rose came out that they shifted to focus on the japanese market. i guess japan started to shove out more money, Marie, Nyo, and Honoka seemed to aim towards the japanese market. Raidou and Phase 4 seemed more western tastes.

i believe if they release aerial gardens with a new character, the character is going to appeal to the japanese market. i really think it's going to be a japanese guy, someone to rival elliot's popularity is my speculation.

Is Eliot popular in Japan? I always knew they had a thing for bishonens, but I never knew if he's truly popular over there.I always assumed that Lolis and Shotas were the most popular in Japan.

Honestly this "stage discovery" doesn't seem to me too much different from when the datas of the demo were hacked and people already realized the entire cast of DoA5 (VF guests included) and the consequent missing characters from the old games. Or again when the datas of the beach stage were found with the release of the full game even if the actual level was missing.

In both the cases people ended to ask for the content that wasn't included and in both the cases in the end the requests were fulfilled (but I suppose that to complete Zack level it was since the beginning part of the plan), so I don't see why this couldn't happen even now. By the way it's true that the destroyed lab stage should be something definitely easy to implement and I don't see reasons because it wasn't never made playbale through a simple patch: it would be the most cheap way to make available another stage in the game.

I completely forgot there was a stage used in the story mode and not available in the other modes.
Anybody got a video/screenshot of it? I really can't remember about it.

Actually there are two of them, both alternate versions of the laboratory:
  • The first one is the lab pre displaying the hidden containers of Kasumi's clones, theater of the fight between Hayate and Rig;

    (7:33)

  • The second one is the lab destroyed after that the DoA5 boss and Hayabusa shoot their ninpo one against the other, stage for the final battle where Kasumi defeat her clone.

    (8:02)

I didn't realize the 'bare' version of Lab was used in Story Mode. TN still has access to using that stage somehow because I've seen it used multiple times in promo videos. Go back to Last Round or promo / DLC videos and you'll notice that if it's Lab, it's that version.

Even Phase 4's win intro movie icons show that version of the stage as well.

I actually don't think this is anything like the content you mentioned. The beach stage and characters were all forthcoming. Fans asking for that stuff after finding it didn't make it happen, bits of data were there in the first place because it was already planned for release and people simply came across it before that content had come out, or in the case of Jacky and perhaps some of the other 5U characters, were planned for DOA5 vanilla but they simply ran out of time and included them in the next version.

"Not released yet" is completely different from scrapped content, which is what this extra level of Depth is. It's presumably something they were working on back when they were first developing this stage years ago, but canned due to time constraints, performance issues or some other reason. I won't say it's impossible, but thinking about this realistically, the odds of cut content being restored is almost non-existent. They would probably prefer to spend their time continuing to make new content, rather than tweaking old stages with content that they had already decided, for whatever reason, wasn't worth finishing. Again, I won't say it's completely impossible, but people really need to keep their expectations in check here.

As others have pointed out, receiving the alternate versions of the lab stage, which are already in the game, finished and playable would surely be more likely, and yet we still don't have those yet.

I agree with you @WisperG, considering again the thing it's true that scrapped contents is just not something in the same league with "not released yet" or "not considered at all before fan's requests". I believe that it would be nice to get additions/expansions to the already existing levels like this one, but maybe it's just ore likely that the developers prefer rather to be focused on new stages at all.

They most likely will expand on existing stages, because Tom Lee said it would be a while before they moved on to the next game, and he promised the longevity of the game was gonna last as long as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if they start quietly improving and adding on to existing things through patches on next Gen consoles. It's kinda exciting to think of the possibilities:)
