Beanies being pulled back is a recent-ish fashion trend so I think it fits.
.....is she trying to say you can't be canadian AND white, or what? That makes no sense, nationality isn't the same as ethnicity lol.

But...yeah. I'm not a follower of fashion, but I am used to beanies being worn like that to usually...denote the wearer is a bit of a dipshit, so its hard to shake the association lol.

My brain hurts trying to understand these so called "fashion trends".

Rig's beanie is slightly pushed back = bad
Lisa dyes her hair with Wite-Out = good
Hair being bleached is common..its more the big poofy hairSTYLE that makes it look bad on Lisa.

If just "white" was the bad part, people woulda hated a good portion of her costumes just for that, too.

but the beanie resting on the back of his head instead of the top makes it look like Rig doesn't know how to work a hat lol.

There won't be any costume teaser vids anymore, right? :(
That's right. Maybe there will be more streams to look forward to. Tweet @xosammyjoe and see if she will stream with Mr. Wah again or perhaps swoozie/whomever is available.

Hey, what's not perfect about... Eliot for example? D: @RetroMe91

I am not going to pick apart your design just because you are not happy that I don't think it's perfect. Don't take it personally. I think it's good, but it's not my favorite.. There are little think i would not have personally chosen to do on it, but that's a personal opinion. Just like how others dislike Rig's beanie, like how Marie Rose's socks are not worn properly, think Helena's costume is dull or executed poorly, think that Lisa's costume is tasteful and not overly revealing, the list goes on... There are just things I could point out on each costume that I personally dislike, just like everyone else here. I just choose not to. Rig's costume on the other hand, I can not. I think it's one of the best in the game.

I have a lot of things to say about the costumes I'm not a fan of but I feel like I'd be too mean and I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade because I didn't even submit my costume because I fear rejection (and because my favorite costume got in) so I'm in the middle of being a lil shady and a lil lenient.

Oh, lol...don't take it personally too, but I don't really care, if you are perfectly happy with my design or not. XD I somehow thought, you were referring to the perfect in-game execution of the design. I had that train of thought, because I was wondering, if it was Team Ninja's idea to let Rig's beanie sit so (fashionably) high. (I don't have Boogie's design here right now to compare, but I also found, it looked a bit strange in the game.) That's what actually interests me, also regarding the Eliot design. But I should maybe ask that again, when we all got our hands on the costumes. ;) Kinda sad, that apparently not every costume got the same amount of detail and care...:/

@CFW, I'm also not so much for taking apart designs, most of all, if the designer is in this very forum.

(Wow, this post was an edit-fest! >__<)

If worse comes to that, there's always modders who'll be more than happy to mod your costume into the game once the PC version comes out (assuming modding is possible)

Idk, I like it. I think he'd look a little silly wearing it like Bayman does in his snow camo. He's not wearing it to keep his head warm, it's an accessory fitting the modern urban theme and that's how people are wearing their beanies these days.
I hate this so much I hope she got dragged for this trash.

And nobody wears their beanies pulled all the way down when it comes to fashion unless it's cold as hell and last time I checked Rig was the fiercest bitch in this game besides Rachel. He would look lame.
Honestly Rig's costume is the only one that is perfect. Every time I see it I just think, "Flawless". Rig's costume is my favorite overall. The beanie looks 100% normal to me...

Eh I guess its just because I've never seen anyone wear a beanie as a fashion statement (From country, not inner city), so the fashion standards are different for me, I suppose lol.

But then I also wear my baseball caps straight, and usually low, shading my eyes, so seeing people wear them all tilted off to the side bugs the hell out of me, too lol.

I still think of clothes in a mostly practical light, lol, which doesn't help my opinions of a lot of the contest entries, tbh.

Eh, I think its more insulting to try to act like everythings perfect. We already know what we like about them, and its better to give constructive criticism. Like I won't say entire outfits suck or anything, because thats stupid, but I will point out something SPECIFIC I think doesn't really work.

Apologies to those who get offended by my comments, its not intentional. I just despise sugarcoating, and I think that criticism is better feedback than just going "looks cool" or "i like it". I'm never going to be partial to urban stuff because its like an antithesis to what I know, coming from a redneck community lol. But I'm trying to still be objective about the rig outfit. Its not bad, at all, I like it overall, its just a) I see those big shoes as snow boots, and my brain goes "snow boots with jeans and open shirt? what?", and the beanie, again, I look at things like hats as being worn practically, not as a straight accessory. Other than that, I like it.

No outfit is perfect to everyone. Hell I'll just go down the line here, to be equal to everyone.

Eliot - The open shoes are bugging the hell out of me, it looks like they'll fly off every time he kicks. The kilt initially took some getting used to, but I'm okay with it now lol.
Marie Rose - Can't actually find anything that bugs me about this one. I LIKE the fashionable asymmetry of the one sock.
Leifang - Wish the top weren't open.
Tina - Wish she had full panties on, not a thong. And the nail polish seems out of place.
Brad - Those dress shoes look like they'd just be PAINFUL to do his fighting style in.
Kokoro - Cute outfit, but completely random. Like something out of the Casual dlc. I think it would have looked better with a longer skirt (To the knees, maybe)
Hitomi - Nothing to say, really.
Ayane - It just doesn't really work without the headband and unique hairstyle. In the original art, it was blatantly a Monkey King outfit. In game, it just looks like an Ivy Valentine ripoff.
Mila - the "Crop top and short shorts" outfit is becoming her "palette swap" choice. like 5 or 6 outfits now, including this one, that are all essentially the same in different colors.
Alpha - Usual complaint of copied from Kasumi, rather than a unique outfit.
Ryu - Nothing to say, i like it.
Hayate - It still looks like a Rebel Alliance outfit due to the little bird logo lol.
Kasumi - Looks like something out of Mortal Kombat 9.
Sarah - Nothing really wrong here. Heavy collar shackle looks slightly out of place, but that's it.
Christie - The bare inner thighs are a little gratuitous.
Bayman - I fucking love this and I'm picking up Bayman for it, but oh how i wish they'd given him a full mask option.
Phase 4 - STILL wish they'd given her the short hair option from the original art.
Gen Fu - I'm kinda neutral on this. Not bad at all, but doesn't stand out to me, it seems like one of (or should be one of) his defaults. Definite kudos for fitting the character, though.
Rachel - The brown with the long hair instantly makes me think of Helena's original cop dlc.
Rig - Beanie looks like its sliding off his head, and the thick shoes look like snow boots, but we've established this is just me having no sense of urban fashion.
Jacky - They shoulda just ditched the red shirt thingy, since they weren't going to bother making it look like an actual rolled back shirt. Instead its just like...cloth shoulderpads in game.
Pai - I'm okay with this. Very cute. Probably wont look as nice with her default hairstyle, but then, what does?
Jann lee - Very plain. But I still like it.
Akira - At first glance the demon emblem on the back looks like he's a fan of the Chicago Bulls lol.
Helena - That dress looks way too tight for her fighting style. The biker gloves are also out of place with the formal dress.
Ein - Shoulda kept the tunic/tabard thing.
Leon - I don't like how plastic-y the headwraps look. They look more like tarp than cloth in-game. At least from the screenshots I saw. (Again, only in-motion i've seen was that newest trailer). That and I was hoping for less of a gap over the right eye.
Momiji - Though this one is more due to the original artist not thinking a detail through, at least how TN would see it. There never should have been a "skirt" to begin with, it should have been a full hakama, just with a leg missing, not a skirt and one leg of a hakama.
Lisa - Nothing to say here, I like it. Well, maybe a little less visible ass crack, but thats it lol.
Bass - He's not as muscular in-game as he was in the submission art, so the impact is lost a little bit but still, awesome.
Zack - I woulda liked it more if the chain was silver instead of gold but thats just personal preference lol. (Also, silver/black/green is my personal color scheme for things :D )

And there ya go. Sorry if anyone takes offense to my criticisms, not my intent, just saying what I do and don't like. For the record, overall, I LOVE all these outfits :)
I consider it more as a discussion of design elements, rather than trying to insult anyone. If mine had won, I would have wanted people to do the same, because I always feel like something could be improved in a design. Like how I know a lot of people didn't like the blue in my design (though I was unwilling to change it, as the entire goal was to have a costume with brighter colors).

I absolutely agree with you, criticism is always a positive thing if done in a costructive way, so stating what people think that is good or bad and the reasons for it (that is something very different and more useful than "I hate it", but also "I love it"). To get different opinions able to make see other point of views not considered so far is always helpful to make improve the vision on your work. Not necessarily because later you will have to follow the suggestions or criticism done (even because, indipendently from you agreeing or less, would be impossibile to do it with everything), but just because at least you could say to have get in consideration such element and to have given a proper judgement on it, things that could never happen otherwise making use of your own thoughts alone.

It's not a matter to create the perfect work or what everyone will like (thing impossible), just to make the more toughtful process of creation behind, so to discard the less/take in consideration the most elements possible for the current work (or to collect such analysis in anticipation of the next one), realizing eventual "right" and "wrong" things done.

A fortiori I believe that this is even more useful if done with the members of the same community, so people not external from FSD in this case, that you can be sure will read your words and will be able to take them in consideration in a way or another (and it's also this one of the reason because I asked for similar feedbacks for my Ein's idea, repeating more times that I can't be offended if someone think that my work is bad, I'm looking more for negative opinions than positive ones XD).

I actually agree with all of these. (The ones, that I don't fully agree with, I deleted.)
I can't wait, to give my full assessment of every costume, but I'll wait for them to be playable and fully observable to me. Unfortunately, I will probably have to unlock each of them first, as I can't carry over my game data and DLC. So that might take some time...XD
When I give my assessment, I will mostly talk about the in-game recreation of the costumes though. How faithful was a costume recreated, how well was it modeled, how well are textures and how well is it animated? As a designer I naturally have a few gripes about many of the original designs, but I won't talk about that here, unless the respective designer asks me to. (Some days ago Kronin asked me privately, what I thought about his Ein costume and I gave him my frank and honest opinion.) This contest was meant to be "fun time", as TN put it so nicely. I don't want to spoil any of that, just as I don't want someone to spoil my fun with it. Quite some did during the voting (not here, but on Facebook), so I already know some hate it...but apparently some like it very much also. ;)
