How dare you?
1. Bitch he's Zachary Taylor, the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger of Wisdom.
2. He is Dennis Rodman.
3. He is Shadowman.
4. Saved Helena's fat ass.
5. Won DOA tournament twice.
6. A millionaire.
7. Owned his own islands.
8. Ladies man.
9. Funky DJ.
10. Dancer.

i would correct you, but the amount of time it would take plus the fact Brute would most likely delete it for being off topic im just not going to bother.

really wish they didnt make everything tiger print, but im glad they used discretion when they made it revealing its still skimpy but not in the weird "ass window" kind of way.

The Halloween costume contest awhile back, like the Rachel one was.
Nope. It was actually one of the staff picks.

And the only reason that Rachel costume was disqualified was because someone rigged the voting system and skewed the numbers. It wasn't because it was ripping off another design.

maybe that was a side convo i had with someone, i could have sworn it had something with copyright to it.

Most of the above costumes are not really Halloween costumes though... Team Ninja seems to go for an overall scary look in their costume choice. And Onis are supposed to be scary, even if the costume design isn't so much. ;)

Ugh....
Now that I know that they only wanted "scary", not simply "costumes", I wish id done a zombie mila instead.

Not the outfit obviously but I would a done patchwork skin like that. Do you think TN would have done entire skin changes like that?

Wish they would have clarified. I as well as many others apparently, remember that people dress up as everything for Halloween, not just stock monster types.

Yep, the outfit of Leifang is definitely inspired to Princess Lum from the classic anime Urusei Yatsura:

I think that it's a cute choice for her Halloween outfit, even if her Phoenix one would have been amazing on her in my opinion.

About Ryu, one of his outfits was awarded from Team NINJA and so now I believe that he has good chances to be part of the DLC:

Great outfit and the unmasked status is a plus, even if my favourite of the contest remain always his crow one (from the same author of Cop Busa, my favourite outfit for Ryu in the first contest XD):

Even Kitsune Hayabusa is a great design, but it's a complex one that would be inevitably modified if chosen, just as happened for Queen of Hearts Nyotengu.

Unless im mistaken, aren't people just assuming its a Lum reference because they don't understand that tiger stripe is common Oni attire?

It reminds of how a lot of people think PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME! is from family guy, when family guy was only referencing a popular meme.

I agree, it's just that to someone with the knowledge of anime/manga, Lum is the first thing that come in his mind and maybe the same could be happened with the author of the design. By the way nothing can say this with certainty, so my judgement in the previous post is wrong.

So yes, you're right and it's just this main element in the popular culture that allowed to TN to use the outfit without being worried to fall in the plagiarism with the work of Takahashi (because in turn being inspired to this concept).

I didn't say it's a cosplay of Lam. I said it makes me think of it, maybe because Lam was my first reference of an Oni. But, yes I already know that tiger stripes is the traditional clothing with that an Oni is represented. If you watch Lamu you realize that because all Lamu's family dresses like that. And well, Lamu was one the first references for me about what an Oni is but there are many others in manga/anime/japanese culture/videogames. Or just watch Hayabusa's Oni design, it has tiger stripes as well.

@Shiranui I believe that Argentus was just talking about me, I made a very strong statement about the outfit being inspired directly from Lum in the assumption that this was the thoughts of the author, thing that actually I have no way to know. So he was right to correct me, said this I believe that to many Western people that outfit will become to end associated before to the anime and then to the Japanese folklore.

I didn't know what to do either, no one seems to care much about halloween in english speaking countries outside of the USA, so I have seen very few halloween costumes in real life. When I think of halloween I think of more funny costumes than outright horror.
