Community Team NINJA Halloween Costume Contest

whats wrong with you? they deserve to be number one. and even skeleton kasumi. those designs are quite the best in the whole contest.
From all your actions and the ruckus you've made on this thread I'm starting to think you're a troll.

Those three costumes are well drawn, but that doesn't mean that they deserve to win. Everyone has their own opinions on what should win, nothing is fact.

However, there isn't much competition for those characters so they probably will each win a best design award. But best out of all the entries in the contest? Well, clearly your tastes differ from the rest of us.

It's you again.... >__>' Actually, what is wrong with YOU? What I said, was, that it is not really fair of Team Ninja to promote the same costumes two times in a row on Facebook. I didn't say anything about which costume should be number one or not.

Also, you are blocked, so don't bother replying to my posts anymore.

I'll be honest that none of the Kasumi, Ayane and Leifang entries had me interested to even begrudgingly vote an entry for each of them no matter how well-drawn their entries are.

Really? I don't even like Leifang and even I'll admit she had two of the best costumes

Wow, Christie people sure are voting differently.

Friend of main pointed out my entry would probably look a lot like this if TN would have meddled with it.

Too bad my artwork sucks compared to others. I just don't hope I get 0 votes. xD

Since we have no way of knowing how many votes each entry is getting let's make some predictions. Here are the top contenders for each character who I think have a chance of making it to the top 10 or be included in the game (it's not the ones that I necessarily like):

Eliot superhero won't make it? :(

I know. So sad, that mecha costume was genius but won't make it because she was miss taged as Hitomi.

Lol no. XD It took me 25 min to make (majority of the time was spent on his hair and trying to transfer the phone pic to my PC) and then I hit submit. I was getting worried though whenever I didn't see any Eliot entries and wished I put more effort into it but now that I see all the good ones he has I'm relieved. :D

I'm just one of those ppl that like to be in contests for the sake of being in them. Ha ha

Its a shame that artwork can arguably be a huge factor when voting in these design contests. What counts is the actual ideas and concepts in an entry, not how pretty it looks.

@Crext you shouldn't think that if your artwork "sucks", you will get less votes. I've voted for entries regardless of how nice an entry looks, and I'd like to think I'm not the only one ^_^. TN even said that they aren't considering artwork as a factor, so have faith in your design's outcome. Good luck!

This is exactly how I think. You see my artwork is a mixture of both points. Its average, but I can see that bitch kold as hell in-game though lol

what matters is conveying your ideas as clearly as possible, for example

this is clearly drawn by somebody who knows how to draw, but the lack of color, odd position, and too much detail makes it look worse.

this on the other hand, although doesn't look as impressive shows you very clearly what the costume is supposed to be. i consider this more well made than the Rig entry.

essentially what you want to do is leave as little to the imagination as possible. you dont want them to wonder "how would this look in the game?" you want to show them how by matching as closely to DOAs art style as you can and that's where good art skills come in

thats life, if you cant draw decently your going to be at a disadvantage for this type of thing. look at it this way they took the time learning to draw that well and now they're reaping the benefit.

However you can always use some tricks, as to draw your design on sktech models found on the web.

RpXDgQB.jpg

I know that appear a silly suggestion, but for who has problems to draw with the correct proportions the parts of the body - so as me - can be really useful to give a proper idea of what is in your mind.

EDIT: However an interesting drawback that I realized is that actually can be much more useful to try to draw you character putting him in a pose before than using similar drawing of his sides. While such views give to you a complete look of the character, the pose despite not being able to do it, can allow you to realize what is wrong in your design from a physical/logical point (overall in cases of complex designs), so discovering parts of the outfit that could never work.

@Squizzo why do yall keep choosing that Zack entry? Lemme guess because TN forgot mines. That is why they shouldn't have started the contest without all the submissions.
