We love the Izuna the most because it looks awesome and it is Ryu's strongest grab, but that doesn't mean that his other grabs have no purpose. 6T and 66T have great utility as throw punishers, which the Izuna usually can't do since it is 12 frames rather than 7. 66T is also great for spacing and when Ryu is against the wall. 8T serves as a long range offensive hold and WR 4T is a good OH to use in a crounching state. The Izuna is not everything.
Also, have you even seen Marie's move list? There are a bunch of different grabs in there with different purposes. Her most powerful throw is only 62 damage anyway, so it would be kinda dumb to just "spam" that one. She has a bunch of offensive holds, stances, defensive holds, and weaker throws.
It's impossible to spam throws anyway because any strike (or a faster throw) will easily beat out a throw. Throws are much harder to land than the more "spammable" strikes.
Ohnonono, you misunderstand. I was hoping she'd be a tactical grappler, rather than a standard combo character like I'm seeing, as that's not my style. If I do use her, i'll probably still play her as a grappler, and just deal with the minor damage the grapples do.
But Izuna spammers are still Izuna spammers. No two ways about that.
