She is a character that gets rewarded for making the right read as things should be in fighting games. I do not want her nerfed. I want other characters to have thier risk / reward buffed.
First, I used etc. for a reason, I didn't want to name every character that can compete with her speed. And yes I mean HER speed. If having 12-16 frame mids is slow to you, then you obviously don't play heavy characters. She is slow and ill add another character to your list right of the top of my head your forgot Mila and momiji. That so called 10% of the cast has an advantage of speed on her and in a game where speed kills that's a good advantage to have. She really isn't that hard to fight ONCE you spend an hour with someone in a lobby (maybe a little longer) and actually spend some quality time playing against her.
One other thing that helps is learning how to play her and using tactics you yourself are having trouble with against opponents. I don't know how many times ive stated Rachel thrives on being in close and is VERY limited with her mid range attacks. The downplay about her isn't ridiculous shes a new character that people still need to figure out and I personally feel once players do start figuring her out the complains will stop.
This almost happens every time an update or sequel is released certain players start complaining about a character they haven't spend quality time playing against. Id much rather play against a Rachel player then I would an Ein player and im not insulting Rachel players its just how I personally feel. Her combos work but I feel other characters have more damaging combos that are easier to perform.
Some of Rachels combos in my opinion look more devastating then what they really are and I know this because ill look up at the screen to see how much damage ive done to my opponent just to be disappointed at times. Being a linear character is a fault no matter what spin you want to put on it. Rachel doesn't deserve any nerfs at this point and time.
This is DOA. You can beat any option if you guess right. It's just in Rachel's favor. No way to get it wrong on her wake up game.
On the same note just because a character has tools that make her solid doesnt mean she's OP.First, I used etc. for a reason, I didn't want to name every character that can compete with her speed. And yes I mean HER speed. If having 12-16 frame mids is slow to you, then you obviously don't play heavy characters.
Second, I NEVER said I couldn't fight her and win, which is what you're implying, but that she is a hard fight. I fight Rachael all the time, my training partners use her, so I understand the matchup. Just because I know said macthup though, doesn't mean I'm guaranteed a win. Ever hear of "beat the player not the character"? I can beat her and how she works, but players are what make her effective. I can screw up, or I can ,make them screw up. That determines the win, not that she only moves in a straight line.
Also another thing on her linearity. If you fail to counter, for whatever reason and you're blocking, she is difficult to punish, not impossible obviously, just difficult. Again, just because a character moves in a straight line doesn't mean they're terrible.

Are you quoting me on that? I never said she is OP. Even my original post in this thread was that yes, I was having a hard time for how safe she is if blocked and "I hate her already" was used, but I posted suggestions on how to combat her in the few posts I made here. I have never said she is OP. Even in the first post you quoted of mine, I said she isn't OP just hard to fight. That is all I have to say on this matter, so you have a good day.On the same note just because a character has tools that make her solid doesnt mean she's OP.
You can't guess right against Rachel. Just less wrong.
The irony here is..is... it's over 9000. All they did was make Rachel the new Helena. And besides that, we all saw Genfu has equally stupid stuff.
Hate mail on PSN said:dude spam price are sky rocketing!!!...cause your using it all LOLOLOLOL but on the real doa5u is hard i wont judge you for not being able to play it properly...anyways i want to be your best friend and i think this is the beginning of something beautiful...spam friend spam on : ) also watch Cabin in the Woods, dat shit be craaaaazzzy...but really watch it its good, think its on netflix, 8.99 a month son!....you should be able to afford it on your spam diet, jk old friend... jk :,(
What if everyone had a blender?
But anyway, I really came here to share this delicious hate mail I just got after making someone rage quit in the Rachel blender:
Spartan's juggle damage was way smaller in respect to the rest of the cast, and she didn't have an OH reset that could be done from her jab string, some of the best safety in the game or Rachel's 2K, which are the things people complain about. Anyway, that's assuming anyone cares about balance in DOA4 to being with (they don't).Everyone needs to shut the fuck up in regards to giving Rachel a nerf, it's starting to sound like Injustice garbage all over again. Next you're all going to start saying Spartan was OP etc.

Oh, this lovely "argument." If Rachel is nerfed to be on par with the rest of cast, I hope you, d3v and the others plan on adapting and not voicing a pip of concern. My point was, they need to adapt. I know that word is thrown around quite a bit, still.
Contradictory argument. You say we should just adapt because the game is perfect how it is (paraphrased, but the gist is that it's better now than it would be if tweaked), but then follow it up with a complaint. That implies that there are aspects of the game that could use improvement. If that's the case, Rachel could theoretically be included in such a category. Maybe, maybe not. But the argument "adapt because the game is best as is" doesn't work as soon as you acknowledge it could be better with one alteration (at minimum; only one CE needed to invalidate a premise).Things need to be left as they are, of course the stuns could be lightened somewhat, but aside from that leave things alone.

So basically your argument is: "Accept the game as it is, even if you think it's balanced horribly. But when I think it's balanced bad (ie: they stop making my character OP easy mode), I will cut and run and fail to adapt like I've been telling everyone else to do."You can feel however it is you'd like and say what you will I'll just stand by my statements. And If they nerf her, well, you can catch me on GTA.
