How are most of you dealing with the lack of okizeme/fts/pseudo fts? :S

FTs are still in the game, there just aren't anymore untechable FT setups (at least what I've heard/seen so far). I would say the core of the oki game is still there, just a tad bit different. You still can FT if your opponent decides to lay on the ground, and most of the time if your opponent tech rolls you're still at advantage. You just have to know your character, and when the latter holds true for the character your opponent is using.

Edit: I think I have seen one untechable FT setup, but not in the traditional sense. Yesterday when playing against a few Rachels, it seems I would get hit with a setup that guaranteed her heel stomp, and I believe the heel stomp leads to FT. But for traditional untechables, I believe they are all gone.

Popped the game in. I can tell you that Jacky can be a problem with his auto parry, and something seems off about Jann Lee's win quotes...

Gameplay-wise, I love it. It has the 3.1 feel to it. I will admit, that it was hard for me to find a ranked match, but hey: I don't play much online.

(on a side note, I was doing Ein's combo challenge and the game froze up on me. WTF?)

Two of his victory subtitle quotes are switched.

Hmm...interesting. Getting Zack and everyone else right now.

Too unsafe to be used alone but just throwing it out there that an uncharged PL can have followup damage (albeit very little averaging ~70) but the possibility still exists and it works against even heavyweights.

Eliot: 33P+K3P then add whatever like PP46P

Rachel does have untechable setups but her down attack is unique in that way. She may be the only one with guaranteed force techs.
Rachel seems to have alot of things that people would want in the game, generally safe moves, guaranteed force techs, that tattoo down there with her alt (okay, that's just me). If they're going to be doing any gameplay tweaks down the line, then they should give these to more characters (and not take them away).

I'm fine with a grappler getting a weaker version of Helenas pft. More safety and advantage across the board would be nice though.

First impressions: this game feels weird. Haven't played Vanilla in a few months but trying this and it feels somehow different. Did they tighten up everyone's animations? I'm also having a hard time grasping how to play this properly since it feels different.

Dude they are just going to pull the same they did with the stagger glitch. Let's say they do that and find out it's not what they want and start messing with it.

Isn't that to be expected since this is almost a new game ?
Yes and no.

That sounds nice but come patch time it's going to be nerf Rachel or pretty much redo everyone else, my moneys on nerfing Rachel.

We need more characters like Rachel. This community has been pretty naive in comparison to others when it comes to character balance. Something being really good, with few or even no answers, doesn't mean broken. It's just really good and it's commonplace in other fighters. Everyone needs to be buffed to the point where they also have a ton of really awesome shit.

The perception of not having an answer is not the same as there being no answer at all. Shitty wording on my part, but there are answers to Rachel's nonsense, even if there are few. Strike low, beat her out, throw her out of her OH (fast as it is), etc. There really isn't anything completely broken in DoA5 or 5U, though Alpha comes closer than Rachel.
