I'm sure this has already been brought up but can anyone confirm that PL's are only useful when charged? Is there any possibility that if you reached the CT and you tried the PL that there is a chance for follow up damage? Environment/ceiling included.
Power Launchers only do anything other than a weak hit and an un-juggle-able launch after being fully charged.

The training mode is SO GOOD and Well done! So is the Combo challenge!

I come from a tekken background and when i bought DOA 5, the game didn't hold my interest for long because I didn't know how the combo system worked. After playing through the tutorial for 3 hours and gaining some knowledge of how DOA 5 U works, and trying out the combo challenges, I can finally appreciate how deep and wonderful this game is.

Very well done and 2 thumbs up for hayashi and Tecmo Koei. This is something Namco needs to learn to do in their Tekken and Soul Calibur series.

Helena can follow up with a juggle after a charged (weak)power launcher. It's one of her combo challanges iirc.

Some characters can follow up with a hit or two, yeah. Nothing huge though. It's not a normal launch really unless it's charged. That's more what I meant but you are right.

Upon further testing for Helena it doesn't need a charge at all. Just depends on distance

Yeah no oki, it's flat out stupid. The game gives way too much advantage to the defender. Not just in regards to oki either

Can somebody confirm the far superior netcode?

The lag seems a bit better, but I'm not really impressed by it. The game overall, while looks like time was really spent to give us something good, falls short still. I was excited for the combo challenge mode the most, and it's frustrating. They give you combos with most characters that you have to connect with such precision because of how close they get to the floor and the distance you are away from them. And you expect me to do that in lag? Okay.

Yep, pretty much. I'm not liking this at all. In fact, the oki aspects of this game was one of the stuff I liked the most. I was kinda expecting it since it was rumored some time ago when the first off screen footage started to appear, but I wanted to believe otherwise.

How are most of you dealing with the lack of okizeme/fts/pseudo fts? :S

You come up with new strategies.

You can get oki off of bounds people, forch techs are guaranteed after them.
Sure, why not. I'm gonna try with Hitomi... oh wait, she's yelling osu and doing her stupid karate thing while the opponent is in bind state. Could work for tag, tho. But I'm not interested in tag for this game. I just don't like how DOA handles tag mechanics.

Very true, but I still think removing the ground game as it was in DOA5 vanilla is a bad decision. Now "to the lab" to test more stuff. I'll try to remain positive.
