She may be wearing a Tengu mask but for all we know she has no relation to Tengu and doesn't fight like him and just wears that mask as one of her costumes. Or maybe she will fight completely different from Tengu but with a similar style like Tina(wrestling) and Bass(wrestling).

This. It's not known how the character plays. In fact, all we know about the character is what a portion of the front of the head looks like. People are assuming too much from some vague picture. The twitter captions are obviously a reference to Tengu, but that's because the character is wearing a tengu mask. It would be more strange to not reference Bankotsubo at all when showing something like that. That doesn't mean the character is guaranteed to have anything to do with Tengu. For example, it could just be someone hiding their identity with a cool mask or maybe a noh theater actress (FYI tengu masks are common in noh theater). The mask itself being a half mask for the sake of sex appeal.

But thanks for seeing my viewpoint. It is way to early to just assume that this character will "be Tengu's replacement". Ican see why one would think so but there is a chance she has nothing to do with the relation of Tengu. She could be totally original and be her own character. So far all this is is just speculation, little facts have been delivered so far

What makes you say that someone with human flesh underneath the mask makes her a bonafide fiend? Rachel looks no different from the rest of the human characters.

Fiends have come in humanoid packages and all we've gotten of the woman atm is her lips and jaw bro. And again, Rachel has the potential to become a Full Fiend, even her costume is pretty much a partial transformation:

So yeah, you can't really just say something like that due to the fact we got absolutely nothing for you to make that call yet.

I agree with Rachel. We know one thing about this character: that (s)he wears a Tengu mask. That's it. Literally nothing else. It's even in question if this is even a new character, I maintain my belief that this is just a costume for an existing character from the Costume Contest.

It got really hard finding the official Facebook page for this game. I tried twice before I got it, first try was a mix of twitter announcements, official posts, and porn. Softcore porn, but porn nonetheless. All while the page was marked as the official one. If you go to Wikipedia, you can find the real official one.

Also, looking at the Ayane picture I was thinking of, it turns out the mask is more like the Fox mask on her DOAD C2 rather than on her head. So I'm not even sure what it is anymore.

If they truly must make the fiend part believable then I'd say let go of the partial transformation and just use the true form (complete with non-human skin color). Wings, claws and spikes don't mean much when they are still sporting human skin. It's like Alexis Rhodes from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX cosplaying as a Harpie Lady.

At least on other fighting games, there is a balance of recognition among genders regardless of the number of their females in their roster and not have their attention centered to only one.

For both you and Rawbie, that's still a transformation, I really don't understand what your guy's point is when Tengu(Banko'whatever the fuck) is just a buffed up man with a Tengu nose and wings, oh wait...isn't THAT a bit hypocritical?

Besides, a Succubus and Incubus's(well, the ones that aren't virtually Imps) don't usually have horrifying true forms and other demons are still pretty damn humanoid anyways as well.

Not even. Past Street Fighter, KOF and Tekken, can you really tell me how recognizable the balance is in games like Mortal Kombat where males are pretty much > females or in Injustice or even in Virtua Fighter. I'm guessing you are the exact same way with Arcana Heart and Senran Kagura as you are with DOA? Recognition of SOMETIMES remembering that you have females doesn't really mean much when they barely matter at times past fanservice like this game(and Soul Calibur and Street Fighter and pretty much any other FG)
