No, the idea of a competitive PC scene interests me. The idea of playing in 4K with everything at max interests me. The idea of having somewhere to play that isn't locked into either Microsoft or Sony's paywalls interests me.
And less input + display lag as well.

I think both the "nooo muh mods" people and TN are still retarded by freaking out over a non-gameplay issue, though.

Competitive ladder built into the game. No mods is a no brainer.

If this is everyone's attitude, they shouldn't bother releasing it.

Why is this even an issue?? They talk like this is the first fighting game on PC or something..
There are always going to be mods or hacks in PC gaming..but that never stopped PC gaming from growing as big as it is now.
What makes DOA so different that they have to threaten PC gamers?
Have the PC versions of USF IV,MK,Injustice,KOF,Skullgirls,Blazblue been ruined by mods or hacks? NO.
God.. This irrational fear of PC gaming that some of these publishers/developers still have is so f***ing stupid.
Are they worried that PC gamers won't buy their DLC? Don't they know that games like DOTA and Team Fortress 2 make a killing off of costume DLC alone? PC gamers WILL still buy lots of costume DLC regardless of all the free mods out there.

TL;DR.. Stop freaking out over nothing Team Ninja. Most of us PC gamers aren't the monsters that you think we are.

Everyone's ignorant about something. PC gaming isn't that big in Japan outside of VN's and H-games, and I have no idea how many games TN has on the PC.

All he asked you to do is “play our game in good moral and manner"
which apparently you seem to think is too much based on your reaction.

i play all of my games "in good moral and manner".
i just feel a bit insulted that they felt the need to ask PC gamers to behave..then threaten to stop releasing games on PC if we don't.

This ignorance and scaremongering would only lead to me ignoring anyone who spews nonsense without thinking.

Kindly ask people who know how things works and Mr. Wah regarding modding and content.

And please, pornography is free on the Internet. Please proceed to your ideal Internet search engine for that sort of thing.

Why? it's a fact PC gamers are willing and able to do a lot more things to the games play. people give you a strange look if you DONT mod your games in the PC community. That combined with the DOA community, the actual majority one not FSD, and you can clearly see what the result will be.

The only mods I would care about are the UHD environmental and character texture mods and if availible better netcode. I don't really care about the rest of that shit TBH.

I thought that was common sense. You shake your finger and tell someone "Now don't do this." and it will make them want to do it that much more. If they wouldn't have made a big deal about it this could have been kept relatively managed in the dark side of the PC world where it belongs. Now half of the LR YT vids are going to be "NUDE ___ VS NUDE ___". -_-

they completely bungled the pc release now especially with their god awful PR for it

-not having online at launch
-delaying it a month after console versions
-threatening the mod community

when the game flops on steam or doesn't reach whatever delusional over inflated sales figures they expect they'll blame PC audience or piracy instead of their own incompetence like every other console studio trying to jump into PC development blindly

It's obvious that mods will be created, it's always been so and will continue to be so, not only for Doa or PC games but for everything out there. If we know it be sure that even the developers as TN make the same, and of course they are not so silly to think that some words will be enough for stopping it (and neither their words was a menace imo, they politely said that they could have problems to get their games produced on PC with a different attitude, so implying something external to them aka problems with the producers - that actually will care only for the sales for judging a such matter).

Like other people said, actually their words seem to keep more a subtle message as "If you will make NSFW mods be sure to keep them under a low profile", but of course they can't explicitely say something of this kind and so their message has to be a different one. IMO this is further demonstrated from the fact that their invite appear to be really bland, as if they were saying that mods are lecit if not showing nudity (when actually every kind of them is against the rules) and they have no problems with proper outfits created from the fans for their liking.

This is no different from their invite on the Japanese official DoA site to not use ripped models when later they also make officially their congratulations for some works of the fans making use of them. Evidently they aren't against the work of the fans with their game datas, but just against a certain kind of it.

PS:
By the way I also thought that TK could be worried that mods will detract potential purchaser of the female DLC. But actually a skimpy outfit generally is much more sexy appealing than a mere nudity, so in a such case they shouldn't care too much of them, rather more of illegal ways to get the official additional contents.

Regardless of what Team Ninja really meant, how people interpret it is what really matters:

I wonder if the guys from TN or TK will have the balls to keep that
"threat" once DOA either sells really well or is the only fighter left out of Steam. I also find it absolutely hilarious that the guy putting jail-bait in bikinis is asking for morality.

Mods will be made. People better start dealing with it... Any attempt to try to make things harder will only make modders all the more willing to do the leg word required to give them the finger. That's how it pretty much always goes. I'm looking forward to the release, as my PS3 went bust last year and I have no plans whatsoever to get a PS4 (or any other console). Hoping it will be a decent port.
