choosing sides online ?

i know it sounds noob but when i play ranked matches online the only players i encounter have a [1] in red next to their names, i assume they picked the left side or sumthing , i dont seem to be able to find out how in the options menu either.
Its one thing to randomly end up on the right side but its annoying to be on the right side all the time

so yeh.. anyone who knows how to pick sides when playing online matches please tell us how to do it

The number is their connection. 1 means they have a 1 bar connection with you. You cannot choose sides in ranked, its randomized.
