  • beat arcade on legend without losing a single match for the first time, yay... Used Kasumi.
playing arcade on legend a lot, still not progressing much. also, how exactly kbd works, and how necessary it is to know it?

It's sort of a fast backdash. It's not really necessary to learn as I've held my own against tougher opponents without it.

It's not necessary but very useful

Is a bunch of stuff, like, i watched some of your tutorials and i can't get movement right, it doesn't come out fluid as it should be, and i can't do that kbd thing. And also, some stuff like when is something unholdable, and what is the best way to mash to stagger scape, and what moves that hitting you on knockdown will force you to get up, and so on and so on.

Also i think the fact that i have almost zero experience with real players makes things more confusing.

I find weird that people actually leave OMG/LR as their default options, it looks so goofy.

I guess i saw wrong then, i thought LR was something more jiggly than OMG. Well, one point for misinformation. I'll have to look up now since i don't have LR breast physics settings.

You don't? Are you on ps3? And they Don't move as much as OMG, they're made to simulate how an actual breast would jiggle with it varying in certain outfits. They also squeeze together at certain points depending on what the girl is doing.

    xbox 360 until i get a ps4. :/
So, do you guys preffer to block by holding back or using hold? Also, i'm going back and redoing the tutorial to see if i get fundamentals..

    Block button.

Whatever works for you, both are legit, i just find it easier to use the button. there are specific cases when back to block is what i use: example fuzzy guarding with a character that has a 3h parry if I do 33h to fuzzy guard I may parry by accident, so i do 334 in those cases.

If i'm positioning myself or spacing i'll hold back, while in close quarters range i'll hold block.

Also little tip about movement, freestepping with 1 (Down-back) doesn't count as a block, so if you're caught with an attack moving in that direction, it will count as a normal hit.
Kasumi or Ayane, that is the question... Seriously, both really great characters, can't decide which one i like the most.

Easy, Ayane all the way. Since they half- sisters, Kasumi is the nicey nicey goody goody, Ayane is the one with the attitude and better looks, plus she'll most likely let you f**k her in the a**.

Like, let's see, gameplay, i can't decide on them on DOA 5 LR, still haven't spend time with the game enough to decide. Design -wise, i'm kinda split... Character-wise, Ayane is awesome in Ninja gaiden , but she seems a bit too bitchy in the DOA games? And Kasumi is kind, nice, but her voice, is too annoying in every language that i put the game on...

So, what a good practice routine for a beginner to start would be? Pick a character, practice what first? what is the approach?

I'm not very good, but I'd say do their command training first to get comfortable w their inputs, then do combo challenge to get a feel for some basic launch combos and such. Then do dojo to see what moves stun/launch on normal and CH. That's where I would start.

already been trough all the training mode part. Multiple times. hahah. xD I think i'm going to look up some optimal combos online and maybe some setups and how to go on with those.

Learn your character's pokes on different hit levels. Then play a few matches, and find out what situations you are often in, and look for some good follow-ups in training mode. For example, "I land 66KK4 a lot with Ayane." Go into training mode, do 66KK4, then see what your options are (ex: BT 4K, BT 4P, BT 2P, etc.)
Someone on the 360 wanting to play some matches against a beginner? Just want to see how the connection goes inside the American continent.
I'm really lost learning this game, but i'm doing progress. Yay! I just need to learn my characters moveset and how to use it, which is hard
So, i beat arcade on legend about 3 or 4 times, and all the times, the last battle was Tina wearing a USA flag thong bikini... WTF?!

LoL.... I can't beat christie 8 times out of 10 no problem.... her AI is fairly predictable.

As always the problem lies with trying to beat one of the other 7 characters... the most notorious examples would be Kokoro, Rig or Sarah.
Any people on the xbox 360 still? Played yesterday against someone from UK,terrible lag, want to test connection is inside america

I'm on 360 but I'm all the way down here in SA. And yeah I had like 4 Second Input Lag in my last match.

Also I don't have Gold Membership.
Character Crysis is always something i pass trough in fighting games, and is something i never really was able to figure out.

Yeah, though i still need to properly learn the game, since it is my first real attempt at learning 3d fighting game. I know the fundamentals, sort of, but i'm struggling to actually use the knowledge
