    You can really only blame the net code so much when you and your opponent have a solid connection. I'm speaking more on the philosophy of getting punished for being defensive equally as much as for being offensive.

    True. I've had my share of good connections. Not often, but when I get them, I enjoy them as much as I can lol. I know how it feels not learning anything. I think its more of we need other methods to learn. Playing casuals with people is fun but you won't always learn something. Sometimes its better to just go to the lab or watch videos. Then again, I'm pretty garbage at this game, so…lol

    Like, fundamentally I feel like I understand what DOA is all about, I've been playing it casually since DOA1. But when someone's in my face and I have to anticipate a throw mixup? It all falls apart, and I just get reset or launched into oblivion.

    I know Kasumi is no Ayane, but what do people find themselves using as her primary whiff punisher?

    I'm no Kasumi expert, but, I usually use Kasumi's 4H+K or just try to poke with a P or 2P as a whiff punisher

    66K, 66P, 3P+K P, 4H+K and H+K are your friends. For throw punishment on whiffed moves in close range, use 6T.

    4H+K, H+K or throws. 66K and 66P are also decent like PewPew said. You don't really whiff punish with Kasumi, she generally uses the advantage to start her pressure/mix-up game.

    I'd really like to see the option to choose your stage for command training come back. That and having the fight info up during it, pls.

    I find myself struggling with Marie's neutral game/ability to open people up. Any Marie players have tips?

    What Brute said. Opening people up with her comes from her BT stance. Due to her safety, minuet is viable after her safe strings and should force people into either trying to throw you out of it, or they'll just sit there blocking which will grant you a BT T or a BT 4K4/ whatever you choose to do. If they start trying to throw you out of minuet- that's when you do 6P/6K etc. after safe strings for a CH.

    Also, do not take ranked matches seriously. And if you must, watch plenty of Queen's Blade to get your mind off stuff.

    I adore DOA, it's my favorite fighter next to MK and it bugs me that I haven't put a lot of time into it. I feel ready to change that.
