DOA5: New Gameplay Demo Trailer of Ayane and Hitomi

New gameplay trailer released today, giving a full match between Ayane and Hitomi. This plays out fairly similar to the pre-alpha trailer of Hayate and Hayabusa. Keep in mind that this is a trailer of the demo coming with the Ninja Gaiden 3 release, and we have already seen the game has changed a bit due to the Akira trailer released last week.

The demo will be available on March 20th to those who pre-ordered Ninja Gaiden 3.

I wish they would at least throw us a sidestep bone in one of these trailers since Team Ninja is going to continue to let people hold out of stun. That said, word is that video is taken from the demo not the latest build we saw with Kasumi and Akira.

This looks like the old build...But Hitomi's new holds are...wow...

Edit:
As awesome as Hitomi's new mid kick hold looks, I'm very sad to see that it no longer launches. Next to the izuna that was close to one of the best holds in the game. Also I noticed she still has her punch parry.

Most of her strings look pretty much unchanged just with a few altered animations like pp6pk it looks like she does a little jump kick now instead of just doing a regular kick.

I'm confused.

Should I be disappointed or excited about the trailer? I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way because I'm grateful for seeing some on-screen footage of an alpha trailer for a change.

I'm a little of both. I'm glad to see how Hitomi plays, but I'm sad to see that it's an old build. It seems they had made this video a long time ago and just decided to not release it. I still blame NG3 for this.

This trailer is clearly meant to be additional hype for DOA5 demo included with NG3.

IMO, it's too much to expect to see anything "new" (beyond the Akira reveal trailer) before E3.

I wonder if those back turned combos are guaranteed. Although Kasumi was able to escape getting combo'd after Ayane did the counter to get her back turned in the GDC trailer. Hitomi got hit by one at 0:55 and another at 1:22.

You can see a Ninja Gaiden poster in the background at 1:17.

Edit:

Ayane actually didn't attack Kasumi after the counter that put her behind Kasumi's back.

It's NEVER too much to expect to see anything new. Many developers release tons of information before big electronic shows and before launches of a game. This is just TN still being stuck in its traditional old school Japanese development. They are making strides, but its still pathetic to see an older build which should of been shown BEFORE the Akira video (you know, during that long ass drought where we got nothing after the TGS video?). Granted many people wont see the difference, but I'd say just as many fighting game fans will notice right away.

Cool video ! Looks pretty fun !
We don't see life but the 1st round was pretty fast
For the middle:K:hold of Hitomi, I though it was an expert old. And if it's not, It just 1hit without possibility of juggle after.
Well now just around 1week to wait!

The video I've been asking about for the longest now has finally come and shoulda been here before the better and more recent build "Kasmi vs Akira"...still though, looks pretty decent, it will be hard for us to give Team Ninja solid feedback when the version is clearly old news.

I'm not too shaken up by there still being holds out of stun, since TN doesn't seem like they're willing to budge on that one. What does bum me out is 0:55. You know what'd be great? If we didn't reward people for mashing on hold during hitstrings because the game still has no true combos.

Hitomi's breasts look like they're floating in water or something... it's awkward as it seems like they aren't moving but her shirt's neckline is...
