Very simple: if you like the specific element of the game it gets a star. If you like all the elements you have a five star game for yourself. No in between responses - yes or no.

A star for: gameplay, graphics, sound and music, replay value, characters.

Gameplay - No
Graphics - Yes
Sound and Music - Yes
Replay Value - No, not much for me.
Characters - Yes... all of my favorites are in and I like Tamaki.

DOAN's Rating 3/5

So for me to like DOA6 more in the future gameplay mechanics and more replay value must be added.

°Gameplay - Yes

Graphics - Yes

Sound/Music - Yes

Replay Value - Yes

Characters- Yes, although they could have added in Naotora and some more new characters rather than just bringing back mostly older ones xD

My rating: 4.4/5

I'm fine with the game overall, it just needed more base game content and more new content instead of the revival series gimmick thing. I feel at this point people either love or hate DOA6 depending on how the game suits their style/character. They should also expand the meter system and possibly add some more new mechanics to better utilize it and tone down the more dumb stuff. I don't want anything mechanic wise from doa5 since that's an old meta, if they just add in CBs and other stuff from LR that's not helping us learn or evolve, that's regressing imo.

DOA6 should be better than its predecessor but it does nothing right. Just reboot and go back to being meterless. It is a useless gimmick that has no place in DOA, and Diego is so bad he might as well not exist. Scrap him like what SC did to the newcomers in SC5.

Gameplay - Hell No, no more SE,fucked up stun game,no more launcher lvls, less things to learn,no good ground game, less variety, dumb 50-50/tod stage, etc... not even a ultimate version will save doa6 lol

Graphics - No

Sound and Music - No

Replay Value - No,None...doa6 is boring and not rewarding

Characters - No

Rating: 0/5

DOA6 is a over simplified DOA5 but with no depth and bad mechanics...They had the perfect formula with doa5lr and instead of making a doa5lr like with a even better and more polished gameplay, moves etc... They took a stupid bet and they've made a quick cash grab kusoge
I really hope that they will not waste their time and money on a new version of doa6 but instead use doa5lr as template for doa7.

As the separate game (like pretending that I have never played this game series before) - yes yes yes yes yes
As part of the franchise ( series and Devs which I know for a long time ) - no no no no no

For me, it would be:

Gameplay: yes (?) - don't really care much for the meter-based moves but I still had fun for a while.

Graphics: no - I much prefer the visuals of last round overall, especially the charcter design; the skin of the cast for 6 just looks off. I do like the more serious facial expressions characters do in 6 at least.

Sound and music: no - nothing really noteworthy about the overall sound design and most of the music is recycled anyways...

Replay value: no - I replay various DOA games when bored and this is no different but I'm much less inclined to play 6 compared to last round, 2 ultimate or dimensions.

Characters: yes - don't care much for NiCO and Kula, I'm indifferent to Tamaki and don't like Diego but as long as Tina and Rachel are in, I have no complaints.

Overall: 3/5 - it's not my least favorite in the series (that would be 4) and there's nothing specifically bad about the game itself but TN's poor handling of the game from the start (mixed up marketing and the core values incident) until the end (the overpriced DLCs and hair colour scandal) really hurt the game for me.

The worst game in the series, and it's not because I think so. It's evident, the saga has sunk and many old and not so old players have abandoned it.

I hope we have more luck if a DOA 7 is done.

Gameplay - No. after 5, this one is a downgrade
Graphics - Yes and No. i love the brightness and color. But it just seems unpolished
Sound and Music - Yeah, pretty standard
Replay Value - Nope.
Characters - Yes. I love the DOA/NG characters.
So i guess 2 1/2 stars, lol

Gameplay - No: Break Guage and all its sub mechanics ruin the flow of the game and it's a lot less rewarding.
Graphics - NO: Technically it's better than 5 and has a lot more colour but it has a lot of graphical problems.
Sound/Music - Yes: Much improved on 5 Vanilla and has old music still.
Replay Value - Yes: I see many are saying no but DOA6 has the most replay value outside of online than most FGs these days you can't deny that.
Characters - No: Only Diego, NiCO and Tamaki are actually new to the series the other DLCs were just hashed from 5LR except Kula who's a guest. Also it's missing Leon and Ein AGAIN!

2/5

Gameplay: boring out of boring
Graphics 4.1 out of 5
Music: 3.5 out of 5
Replay value: 1.9 out of 5
Characters: 3.5 out of 5. I’d give this a 5 if Marie, Honoka and Diego were deleted.

Removing Raidou would be best decision. Removing popular chars (Diego isn't included) is stupid

Gameplay - No. (where's tag team?)
Graphics - Yes (more free assest for p%rn animators)
Sound and Music - No (most of the good themes come from previous entries. nothing interesting from the new themes)
Replay Value - No, zero, nada. (Not even the unlockable costumes is worth of the task.)
Characters - No. (again, DOA5 but slower)

1/5
verdict: Better play the older ones. If you're into realistic waifus, go with DOA5. If isn't, 2, 3 or (specially for me) 4 are the ones to go with.

Gameplay - I guess.
Graphics - Nah. Sloppy as all hell. If you can't even be arsed to make the costumes fit the body model or connect the body part seams properly, what are you even doing? Let alone the texture issues and other bugs.
Sound and Music - I guess.
Replay Value - Nah. Story isn't worth replaying. Quest is kind of alright, I guess. But, it's not super fun. Other than that, it's not better than DOA5 at all.
Characters - They really tried to resell us Mai, Momiji, and Rachel, huh? And they told Leon, Ein, and Gen Fu to take a hike. Diego and NiCO are meh. There about 15 other KOF characters I'd want before Kula. And I don't even remember the DOAXVV lady's name and I didn't buy her because...nah.

2/5. I feel like I should subtract another point for them fucking up the costume unlocks, the hair DLC, and only giving the guys two costumes. So, really 1/5.

I overall feels like Team Ninja skipped an entire generation of the series. It's weird because DOA5 les some 5 years ago was the prime peak of the series.

Everyone that I know that plays Dead or alive since long before did not even bother buying DOA6, even at $19.

Graphics :
Yes and a lot. DOA6 on One X/PS4 Pro with 4k TV is easily the best looking 3D fighting game at the moment. Also the game is very smooth with amazing animations. But that's not over, i'm really happy with the art style and the fact that they brought back the colorful/anime feeling of old (real) DOA games, i just love that. I simply hated DOA5 art style and graphics, and i've never been really deep into DOA5 (just) because of that. One more and last thing, replay camera needs to come back !

Gameplay :
Yes ! And people need to chill a bit with DOA6 gameplay and stop overracting like "it's terrible or a bad gameplay". After +20 years, it's still DOA, it's still smooth, it's still fun, and most characters are respected (very recognizable and play almost the same as they should). People need to stop complaining like DOA has always been Tekken or Virtua Fighter for creativity or possibility, fighting games are not all about combo or esport only either. As an arcade japanese fighting game style, they did a pretty good job with the gameplay overall. It's still DOA and this gameplay is still enjoyable to play for a fighting game today, the game has no bug, and inputs are clean.

Sound and music :
Yes, i like it. i mean music is already a lot better in 6 than 5. It's just a bit annoying that we have to unlock all the classic DOA musics by playing with every characters (it takes too long and too much works). The sounds effects are quite well done and sound good, nothing more to say about that part.

Replay value :
No. And that's the BIG flaw of the game. The lack of stages (only 13 or 14 in DOA6 ? Every fighting games should have at least 20 stages) and it gets boring for sure mostly when the DOA franchise is well known for having amazing and quality stages in the past. Story mode is meh in 6, make DOA story mode like DOA4 (by characters) cause it's more simple and more fun as a fighting game while it added a replay value to unlock stuff (characters, stages, costumes).

Characters :
Yes and No. DOA6 still has a big roster for an 1 year game ("only" lol but with a price). I'm ok with Diego and Nico as the "new DOA characters" (they fit quite well), i have no problem with Tamaki (she's good) or the KOF girls, i'm very happy Momiji and Rachel are back too. But man, when we see the 3 missing slots at the characters select screen, we can't stop thinking about Gen Fu, Leon, Ein (maybe Alpha lol or Irene Lew ?)... Btw, bring back DOA1 Raidou skin/costume cause he looked so sick in this game.

Verdict : 3,5/5 stars.

Dead or Alive 6 is not amazing or godlike, i agree it's not perfect, but it's still a great fighting game to look and play imo. I'm waiting for Dead or Alive 6 Ultimate for sure, some changes and adjustements to the game would improve DOA6 and make it a lot better. It's up to Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja.

And again, people needs to stop bashing DOA6 gameplay or meter. It's still DOA in 2020, and Tekken or SoulCalibur also have meter but that's not a reason for the fanbase to destroy their beloved fighting game for years and they know they have to support it cause we are not in 1998 or 2003 anymore. The DOA situation could be a lot worst, just look at the very sad Virtua Fighter...

Graphics: 7//10 they are fine as far as i can tell, minus the few clipping frames.

Gameplay: 5/10 its alright in my opinion , its a step backwards from 5lr but i guess they were trying something fresh. It just didn't work out well at all. as the old saying goes if ain't broke don't fix it.

Sound and music: i like the sound track at least.

Replay Value: 5/10 definitely could use more stages and tag mode but i still enjoy fighting online to a certain extent. Then again barebones fighting games is the new trend >_< It needs to be stopped. Anyways the only plus i can tell is the netcode is decent lol

Characters: 7/10 I have no problems with the roster abeit the missing characters from the previous games. Newcomers seem to get alot of hate, i just don't see i.t I understand not liking movesets or the rather have an veteran in it over them. I am pretty sure they could easily add the veteran characters if they wanted to lol, i feel they are just being lazy lmao.

Verdict 3.5/5 doa6 is decent game besides its glaring flaws.

People are hating on the gameplay because it is shit. Nobody told them that the game had to be E-sports, but if you announce a world championship before even launching the game, then it’s only logical that you make the game E-sport. Its pretty dumb to say such a thing. TN is wrong for trying to promote a E-sport DOA and then make it a unbalanced fighter that’s more for the casual crowd.

The gameplay would’ve been fine if they stuck to the actual traditional gameplay, but they didn’t. Instead they added a get out of pressure hold, a special that can interrupt regular attacks, the meta where you have to go for the same combo enders to gain max damage and fucked up damage scaling that forces you to go for the same short combo’s to also gain max damage.
The scaling is detrimental for characters like Kasumi who have weak strikes and mostly get her damage through speed and long combo’s.

And don’t even get me started on the ground game. The game rewards people for lying on the ground for multiple seconds and forces aggressive characters that thrive off of force techs like Helena to go back to neutral and lose their advantage. Players shouldn’t get rewarded for getting knocked down and aggressive players shouldn’t get punished for playing aggressive. A balanced change would be where only a move that’s followed up after a hard knockdown could instantly tech up somebody. Even after a hard knockdown players can still lay on the ground for multiple seconds before getting teched up. So no, the gameplay isn’t fine.

LOL Dead or Alive 5 vanilla was trash.

Wait for Dead or Alive 6 Ultimate or Last Round, before making comparisons with a 3 years old tuned/balanced game that was Dead or Alive 5 Last Round guys.

DOA5 vanilla wasn’t as good, but least the bitch survived. Can we say that about DOA6? The game flopped so hard KT decided to end the support for the game and gave TN a break.
