Why do so many people dislike the VF cast?

Pretty much all of them are.

It's probably due to the mechanical differences and the fact that VF only has 220 health vs DOA's 300, but I can actually get some decent mileage out of the Bryants and Pai. Akira's still a mystery to me.
For me specofically I find that VF has a higher Input Leniency, Theres just so many things I can't with DoA's Pai or Sarah because of simple execution difficulties.

I wish Lion was considered for a VF guest character, even though Christie would probably still be a better character, despite their similar fighting styles. However, it is interesting to note how unique Jann Lee and Jacky are in terms of gameplay, despite essentially having the same fighting style. I think Lion could work in DOA, but then again, I am biased towards him being included because he is my main in VF. His bratty quotes are hilarious to me, but he's also a really fun character to play as and customize. :)

Lion Rafale ey ?
You know whats funny, since side stepping is easier in VF then I would say Christie is only slightly better.
Its a similar case with Momiji and VF's universal jump mechanic..... Some of the things that make certain DoA characters unique are standard for Allmost all the VF Characters.
Jan Lee hits harder than Jacky right ? You're right... they are definitely different.... I'm not entirely sure in what areas specifically because I don't play as them.... "YEAAAAAAH"

Speaking of Which..... do any of you guys find that VF Characters are easier to use in VF than they are to use in DoA ?
Nah, I find the VF characters much easier in DOA. Jacky's FSK is a lot easier with DOA's lenient buffer system. I also think Lion is relatively on par with Christie in terms of how obnoxiously good they can be. If you think Christie can make you rage, a good Lion will send you up the flipping wall.

Flash Sword Kick. This move is a pain in the ass in VF but is miles easier in DOA to the point that I can chain it, like, 3 or 4 times in a row.

I do sometimes. I hate 33 inputs with a passion.
Geeze..... thats a new one...... didn't know people struggle with that.
People struggle with all sorts of things.... makes you wonder how different your thumbs are from everybody else.
BTW I never miss 33 inputs and my 11 isn't good but its dependable if I jerk my wrist just right. ;)

Lol since i am never a good multiquoter especially on a tablet i just will touch on different things spoken on. Lol.

Pai......yeah she can be a pain in the ass to folks who arent quick enuff to grasp how well her poke game is. I was killing my homies with her and they got frustrated severely.

Vanessa vs Mila...... i think both are uniquely different and versatile depending on how you use them. Bringin Vanessa to doa would def be a great idea but how they would handle her stances changes would be key . Even Sarah lost a few moves from VF comin to Doa so i would womder how they would handle that since VF has a craptop of movesets and Vanessa has a lot of tools to use in her change ups. I love her throws and take downs and punishing kicks. With both i usually try to stay as close as i can to the opponent . They would make for a great matchup of simular styles but done vastly different.

Eileen ....... she is different from Helena in almost any regard. Faster pokes with shorter range, faster period and her sidestep game is nice! Helena uses her arms flowing circular style with ease and got good reach. She is a counter queen for me. I can keep folks at bay with her reach of her arms and legs kicks but counter in close moves. When she goes into her low stance she can cause some cool interuptions and i seen when folks do go into that stance they seem to back off quickly cause she can counter, strike and throw from it. One of my top fighters to use cause of her versitility in style. Sadly of you dont transition well with her from move to move on point can find yourself in a punishable state easily. Her best matchup would be probably Aoi.

Lion.....i would like him to go up against Christie too. They both got the speed and slickness to out manuever even each other. 2 great pokers, both got a couple good lunging moves and added their side step game is tight. They may not drain a meter fast since they hit less harder if goin by doa specs only but they can smother you in a corner with those pokes big time.

If ya ask me and if VF 6 is never gonna come or be made...let Doa have them and make a huge big bang crossover that function on DOA mechanics. I love both VF and Doas gameplay mechanics , plus for me the VF cast were made well so far with the doa gameplay. I can see the difference in both games styles and pace and i didnt have a problem at all with VF characters playing cause i didnt play with them as if they were VF gameplay characters, just DOAs since its the style its in.

The issue with 33 inputs is that most D-pads are picky when recognizing diagonals, so having to input 2 diagonals quickly becomes a nuisance. IMO, 33 is a dumb input.

Oh yeah that makes perfect sense.... I don't use the D-Pad.... ya'know..... because the Xbox Controller D-Pad is awful. I use the thumb stick... it can be exhausting.

I have actually grown accustomed to using both d pad and the thumstick for inputing different moves i wanna pull off. Its funny cause i will be playing and i flip flop from one to the other during playjng. Lol. My younger cousin said i was cheating or somethin. Lmao. Once you get used to it, it becomes like second nature to do those combos on que. i have to admit i done missed many if i just tried to use one method sometimes.

same. I'm usually dpad but I switch to thumbstick for half/full circle movements like Izuna, dervish throw, etc.

VF and Goh have actually got me training myself to switch between D-pad and stick on the fly.

Speaking of, I'd like to see how a Goh-esque character would play out in DOA.

Goh -esque ya say........mannn they could put Goh in there period!!! Lol. I would suspect tho they would buff up a bit more his striking and find a unique way to handle his judo style moves. Dude is a very very Technical dude and not a good pick for the beginers. Him and Aoi are big time and if Doa was to put them in they would have to be handled extremely well to sell me on them. Goh would def be a awesome needed style character in the game. I would love it.

I tried alternating between stick and d-pad..... its great for doing combo challenges but in an actual fight I can't leave my homeworld position...... :(
Maybe one day I'l get a fightsick. I might aswell since it already takes my entire left arm to do certain things.

Nah, DOA just needs its own Judo-using asshole. Maybe as a proper rival to Mila.

That said, if DOAxVF ever happened, Goh and Aoi are must-adds.
