i dont think so ..

my xbox live account is japanese ..
and I uploaded my code through it ... (uk code ) and it worked

same thing with gold memberships ... they work the same world wide on any account .. (otherwise i never would have been able to renew my gold membership lol .. )

its only microsoft points that seem to have region lock due to the pricing ...

this is atleast from my own experience

Well the guy is stating he can't download the game because it says the code is invalid. The PlayStation Network runs different servers in each region. Just like you can't redeem a Japanese point card while in the States, and vice versa.
